How to beat a bunker bomb engineer?
What part of your build is Defensive exactly?
Neither of your weapon choices offer any form of CC other than Cripple, which isnt going to put much pressure on a Bunker build anyway.
The most defensive builds for a warrior, imo, are ones which actually put -more- pressure on the enemy and make them panic and make mistakes.
For instance I use a GS/Hammer build:

(may need to copy/paste link)
Pressure with GS, & when they get low or you need to play more defensively switch to hammer to stop their heals/damage.
Axe is not a good pvp weapon imho.
Focus on one main weapon to use and your second weapon set needs to augment your first. I run Gs/sword+shield.
I use the GS for my damage/Hb setup/closer and my second set specificall for the leap from sword two so i’m always on top of him if he knocks me away. Shield block+reflect missiles trait is amazing btw as you can wait for their most damaging attack attack and reflect it right back. It’s a fight changer imho.
Btw, the only heals i rely on are signet of healing ticks and the adrenal healing trait ticks. I rarely press my active heal.
Horn is rubbish 1v1 btw. Axe gives you no utility.
Engineers can be super tough fights honestly, especially if you’re playing to tehir strengths and have to run around in their mines/turrets (btw I will destroy all turrets as I go). Save bull charge/frenzy+Hb smackdown for when they’re <40 percent health to hopefully end it before they can regen back up.
I think your problem is the warhorn though, switch it to shield and you’ll have way more luck. (or even mace off hand for the ranged knockdown).

I am sorry but this is inaccurate. Warhorn is amazing and I would say arguably one of the warriors best weapons if traited into Quick Breathing. Weakness is incredibly powerful as well, considering -50% endurance regeneration and 50% fumble which causes all non crit attacks to be glancing blows. With Quick Breathing, you can keep weakness up on your opponenet half of the fight. That is huge in terms of survivability. On top of that, you are converting conditions to boons which each warhorn ability used. That literally removes a condition and now buffs you, all in one skill used. That is incredibly powerful.
To the OP, if you want to try out the Axe/Warhorn, check out – https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/Axe-Warhorn-Build-Useful-in-sPvP-WvW-and-PvE/ – and see what you can do to tweak your build. I don’t know what you utility skills are so I can’t really comment on what is going wrong that you are having problems with the bunker engineer, but I will say that most people have problems with the bunker professions. That is why they are so popular at the moment.

1v1 vs. Bunker engy in tournament. I believe the engy is running the exact setup you mentioned.

IMO its all about interpreting when his knockbacks and stuns are about to go off in order to keep the pressure on.
I disagree.
The OP is using a warhorn and he’s getting beaten. The simple fact is putting points that far into tactics kittens you. The pasive traits add no survivability or attack damage. They’re all rezzing traits. Literally every other trait line has better passives in. The sacrifice you have to make for quick breathing just isnt worth it.
I went for a full condition removal build once, warhorn, condition removal on crit, condition removal on being hit, condition removal on heal….I had everything.
It made no difference, there are SO many conditions on you all the time, As fast as I cleared one, another would take its place.
You need a shield in pvp. It’s just that simple. A thief can drop 15-20k on you in 1-3 seconds at 2k toughness. Mesmers can shatter you for 8-10k every 15 seconds, Hb glass cannon warriors will drop 12-15k on you in 3 seconds. Rangers with haste will put out 1k+ arrows every 1/2 second for 4 seconds. Gs/flame guardians can put out 8k of damage in a few seconds.
There is SO much burst around I have to have shield and endure pain. I’ve tried without and I always come back to putting them on my bar, because I always think ’If I had endure pain I would have won that, or shield would have been great to reflect that.
You drop 20 percent of your damage for warhorn (probably more), you lose a block+reflect and a stun. Is it worth it? In fights I probably have weakness on me for most of them and honestly, I don’t even notice a difference because I run with a 70 percent crit rate (with signet of rage fired).
I found warhorn good for staying out of fights/running away, not so much being in one.
In team fights? Bait their minimizing elixirs (stun breaks) out with Mace + Shield and add a Bola too because immobilize is a strong condition. Hopefully you have a good Mesmer/Necro to remove protection most importantly. And now you should be able to kill him in Skull Crack + HB if you force stun breaks while removing protection. Seriously you have to do so much just to deal with this class and people can’t admit the fact that Engi is too forgiving for its own good. But this is one of the only ways to deal with an Engi.
In 1v1? They’re basically un-killable. Takes no skill to be an Engi to be honest. Just don’t bother fighting them and look for better skirmishes.
i have two 4 (5 traited) cripples: axe 3 and sword 4 I think that is plenty of cripples and actually the most you can get out of a warrior for cripple
Thanks guys don’t need more replies to this thread unless you wanna disscuss amongst yourselves,,, I’m going to start a better one with my build and more details
I can beat most players 1v1, but Frankly i know it’s a lopsided fight to fight bunkers 1v1 but I love the challenge even if I lose
