I am sooooooooooo slow!
Why aren’t you using warhorn when you’re OOC for swiftness?
If you’re camping GS + A/M all the time that’s your reason for lacking swiftness. Take advantage of the tools at your disposal.
As for your complaint about GS3 and GS5… I completely agree with them feeling worthless now. Savage leap isn’t changed very much but the greatsword skills really blow now.
I agree with OP honestly. I’ve always wanted to use different weapon combos such as axe, rifle, or whatever but I’m always compelled to bring S/WH or trait for Warrior’s Spirit (which only works when using melee weapons) for movement. It’s really limiting what I want to do on warrior. I would actually argue this same issue always comes up when trying to play guardian as well. It’s always either staff or “Retreat!”, but that’s for a different thread I guess.
That’s it, increase everyones movement by 25% and remove swiftness from the game. The more you think about it the more you realize it just limits everyones build. Swiftness is always a must have.
BASELINE! :p

Or you know run with people that have differing builds. Swiftness shouldn’t be baseline it’s already ridiculously easy to get even if you aren’t running using something that gives it. The game doesn’t need to be any faster than it already is.

In 17 years when they finally do it, you’re gonna feel so embarrassed.
Your playing a heavy armor melee focused class you shouldnt be fast.
The greatsword weapon skills should be used to kill a foe.
Take discipline line and the middle adept trait warriors sprint which is just your going faster.
use a warhorn and give yourself more swiftness.

Melee classes need speed, otherwise they just get kited to death. Warriors sprint is no where near adequate speed by itself, not for wvw anyway (everyone has +25% speed if not swiftness there).
While we’re on this topic, I’m currently thinking about getting speed or travelers runes on my warrior. Since I don’t care about my warrior as much as my other 8 characters, it’s most likely gonna be speed since they’re cheap. Point is, could you please fix the senseless redundancy of the speed runes, Anet? It just throws swiftness buffs all over the place then suddenly give you perma 25% movement speed. Does this make sense to anyone? It’s a very desirable bonus trapped in a confused rune.
