I was playing WvW today and got many PMs inquiring why I would ever go dual maces or that it was such a rare sight to them that they had to ask me “why bother?”

Now I understand that our adrenal skill is a bit underpowered (3 seconds might be more fair, especially compared to the monster that the hammer equivalent is) but why do you fellow dual mace-ers choose it?

I also understand that burst is the way to go right now in pvp but I like the control that this setup gives me. But I have to admit I do feel inferior sometimes to the damage that dual axes or greatsword can put out.

You should never feel bad for any weapon set you use! Dual maces is great for control. Axes and Greatswords are meant to pump out damage, while the mace is meant to daze/stun things. If your second set is Axe or Rifle, you can just switch and use their burst to do some moderate damage! Just try and make sure you’re weapon swapping, because the only time I ever feel bad as a warrior is when I forget to weapon swap and I realize I’m being only half as good as I could be.

I’ve fallen in love with the main-hand mace skills, but I favor either shield or sword for my off-hand. Granted, I don’t do any WvW or sPvP, so I’m not sure how viable it is for either, but running around being able to parry, block, and stun an opponent almost indefinitely is just super nice.

Yeah, I don’t think anyone questions the main hand mace. Its the off hand one that gets odd looks. My guess would be that most people using mace would be going defense, so they’d either take a shield or a sword. A ranged knockdown is a very cool skill, but a stun and 3 seconds of blocking would win over most people.

Actually I prefer Mace for offhand for the stun, while mainhand is sword or axe for the damage.

I loved dual maces till I had to fight a skelk veteran that took ages to die due to regeneration and my low damage

Mainhand, and Offhand mace offer some pretty good skills, but I don’t think I’d ever be using them both at the same time.

Axe+Mace is by far one of my favorite weapon setups right now, it’s a little ridiculous.
