It makes me sad and frustrated.

I’m not enjoying the game anymore.

I mean come on, I can manage the engineers, necros and thiefs.

But you warriors? We brothers.. We are the soldier profession, I never thought you could do this to me with a smile on your face…

They want to have their shiny moment before this game completely collapse because of kittened balance. I guess they deserve their place, next to sp. rangers and necros.

I’ve seen a good Sword/Sword, greatsword build. Mace/shield, Greatsword build is easy to counter..break stun or use block etc.

Regen/CC/mobility with good survivability. Some play it in cond.damage/tough/healingpwr and use longbow/2xsword.

Some just use it with sword+shield/GS and go berserker.

It hurts me..

thought it about the Mace stun build.

but really its been a long time since a guardian actually beat me , i eat guardians on breakfast and i don’t need some stun or regen build to do that .

maybe because 90% of guards are bunkers/supporters “guardian mentality” and warrior when played right can open their shell nicely even better than thieves.

Last I checked, in general in warrior vs. guardian fights, the warrior has the advantage:

*Superior statistical bulk
*Higher sustained damage
*Greater availability in control.
*More viable ranged offensive options

In sPVP, I spend a lot of fights in the game just chasing around other players auto-attacking them on my guardian, mostly because as a guardian that is all I need to beat people. My higher sustained offense and stats is enough so, were we both to just sit still and attack each other, I win by default. The whole fight becomes a counter-fight at that moment, for so long as I can counteract their strategies, I’m going to win.

This is true for every class except warriors. Warriors are the only class where the guardian has to maintain some kind of strategy that is more complex than just auto attacking. Doing things like reserving protection and shields for your own burst, and applying blinds and retaliation when the warrior catches up to you, and using stun for movement and positioning instead of just for burst.

Like I said on another thread, Warriors have changed their game, people need to change their counters. Many are unwilling to do so and prefer crying about it on the forum.

I spent like all of my cash on gearing S/S + LB for condi build and I didn’t really like it. There’s no denying the bleed damage is great but I still felt I was being killed pretty easily. That being said, I’ve only hit level 80 recently and I’m probably below average at the class but still :>

I’ve ran into this too, I get better damage and more survivability going zerk with Axe/Shield and Rifle…

ow ps with longbow/sword+shield power/crit build i can manage most guardians also.. but the fight is way better on much more fun to play compaired to landing your 4sec stun over and over again… kitten boring :-P

I’m trying to figure out what OW PS means and I’m pretty sure that PS is Precise Strikes. But I’ve checked all Warrior Skills, and Traits, and nothing has the acronym OW. Can anyone help me out, please?

But nah, I don’t really run GS/M+S build. I’ve actually killed that build multiple times on my own WvW warrior. It’s good that a class like guardian has trouble with it though, rather than being able to literally facetank yet another class.

Can you please tell me what build you use when you killed these warriors? Just a would-like-to-know thing, nothing else!

Also, it might be my skill not being enough as a player, but I seriously can’t facetank any players no matter what their profession is. Except maybe bunker guardians, those I can tank! What I mean is that I always have to use my heals, dodge their “most” important attacks, try to CC with the little I have (Not whining here!) and try to not get killed. Using shouts to cleanse cond. at the right time etc. I think every class needs to do this also, not just guardians.

I’ve been running a condition warrior in WvW. Sword/Sword and either Longbow or Greatsword, depending on where I’m akittens effectiveness drops the more people there are unless you pick and choose priority targets, but I’ve made it more for individual fights anyway. You’re still susceptible to high burst like most anything else, but having stability from Last Stand and Dolo Signet pretty much wrecks any stun you can’t just dodge or block.

I think a lot of it is just being familiar with warrior and how most of them play, predicting their movements, along with just watching for animations. Warriors are usually an interesting fight but thousands of hours playing it hasn’t really made me fear them. Aegis, blind, and stability should let you counter the stuns in this build pretty well if you can time it right. And of course stun breaks.

i havent faced one since the patch, lol. and i just 3v1’d some other server wars last night in wvw, and of the 4 of us, i was the only one that used a mace… in my offhand lol.

as someone who mains a warrior, I also hate it. Its boring, and all warrior vs warrior now is stun spam…. god knows a 3.75 stun every 8 seconds makes for awesome pvp!

Judging from your posts, you’re losing to every profession in the game. I dunno how that is possible playing a guard in wvw.
