Guild Wars 2

Hey guys

I’m about to do this for 2 reasons:

1 – I need something fresh to do. The game for me now is about PvP and LS mainly and this kinda means that I’m feeling much bored with the game than what I used too. A while a go I was excited about farming, doing PvP and getting the titles, going WvW sometimes. Now I don’t care much about any of my characters I think I lost my main and I want to get it back.

2 – I’m doing this with Warrior, mainly because I want to get used to the class because I want to main it in PvE and PvP after the changes. The Adrenaline changes and GS really excites me. Now I problably feel a challenge while playing warrior and not just a faceroll (oh missed burst? don’t worry just switch weapons or wait another 7 sec it’s fine. meanwhile have this maxed healing from Adrenal Health or maybe this 15% more damage while waiting, that should do the trick) and the GS will get much better Imo. I love the GS in Warrior and Guardian but I feel that it could be more affective in the Warrior in PvP, and this change might just do that. I know Hambow will still be around, and GS most likely will not become meta but I also play Medi Guard and it isn’t meta so it will not borther me much.

Why am I doing this topic you ask? Well I’m not that sure of what class I should do. I love the animations of the Asura, they are funny, also in PvP it’s king, but I allways felt like Asura don’t fit heavy classes at all. I love Ascalon and so Charr would be nice, has I could start to explore there right away, and I love the Charr T3, but they clip so much with most weapons and that might bother me.

Also I want to know what do you guys think? I’m not going so hardcore and WP, I might maintain the infinite gather tools and the 20 slot bags, and has I don’t have a guild bank so I will have to stay with my gold (I have 28g at this point so I’ll just have a rule to not go anywhere down taht value so that 28 would be like the 0 line), but I will add to the challenge the fact that I cannot do Ascended stuff from my other characters (so I will have to lvl up Armorsmith and Weaponsmith to 500 again, crazy and expensive but I never rushed about these). I also will not add the death factor. I’m kinda suicidal sometimes and I might not make it to 80 without having all the 10 deaths spent.

Sounds like a good topic for me to talk about. As I made a warrior as my second character, and it is also a Charr.

First of all, there are a LOT of different ways to play a warrior, more than anyone gives credit for. Personally I play a shout heal bunker warrior, which also has a dps rifle build I keep as a backup if I need to do damage. Warriors are surprisingly good tanks, they have heavy aoe heals, lots of condition clear (especially when you run Superior Runes of the Trooper), and can shut down a target if you use a shield and mace. They also have the highest base health in the game (tied with necromancer at 18k) and they have Dolyak Signet at their disposal for a large toughness boost if you need it. All of that makes them VERY good tanks, and for that reason I am always surprised to find that there are very few of them.

DPS wise a Warrior can be one of the highest outputs in the game, even after the last “nerf” when ferocity was added. They can easily might stack, apply party boons, and apply heavy condition if they want to.

It is also a good time to mention BATTLE STANDARD. Possibly the best elite skill in the game, for the fact that it can pick up 5 downed allies that can all then in turn use their elites (FGS, Lich/Plague Form, Basalisk, etc), turning a fight around in a few seconds.

So yeah, they can do just about anything you want them to, don’t be afraid to try non-meta warrior builds, it’s hard to go wrong.

Right, onto the part about being a Charr. They have the best looking armor in the game, hands down. They have some of the most entertaining lore in their personal story as far as i’m concerned, and they look a lot more interesting than a human. But yes, they do clip a lot of armor, especially the ascended headpieces, the heavy helmet looks like a crown, rather than a real helmet. It is very frustrating finding good armor sets for them, and in fact even the T3 cultural helm clips on my Charr, go figure. I find that a combination of the cultural armors, and just having to accept that they clip, is the best way to deal with the issue. Just don’t look at your face, and you don’t have to be disappointed, as sad as that sounds.

I think I’m go with Asura. Everytime I get into the Inquest Fractal (can’t remember the name) with my Guard with GS I allways tell myself “kitten I should have done an asura”. I know Guard GS is different than Warrior but I say that because of the animations I love them.

And about the idea what do you think? I like the fresh feel it might bring but I also fear that I might regret halfway and lost time for nothing. After all until this guys is at 80 I most likely will not PvP unless it is with other characters and I will also not farm so i don’t increase the gold gain and tokens, wich I did not spent because they aren’t that much to make any difference. I already decided that I will craft my lvl 80 armor to increase the challenge and avoid using those tokens till I’m full geared at 80.
