IDGAF when people said shout/hambow were cheesy because the builds, especially shoutbow, offered amazing team support. I loved playing shoutbow, it was the most selfless build ever and the whole team benefited from it.

Then the June 23 update came where it allowed warriors to stay relevant but only by a thread thru Rampage.

Today’s slight nerf to rampage isn’t the problem. I think it’s the trait specializations lacking in synergy and build diversity. So many grandmaster traits based on adrenaline….yet it sucks how fast it drains out

Btw, nerfing shouts was the lamest thing ever.

Shoutbow can still be visible. use this, but don’t expect that much damage but full support & bunker with some damage from condition (but it does much more dmg than guardian bunker). Well you can kill people though, but it takes long time to kill. .

Since we lost reckless dodge, so no celestial amulet. power is not in need but we need more tanky bunky settler amulet :

Shout heal amout is actually increased because of frequency of shout has been buffed (from 3 shouts to 5 shouts). And also, instead of converting, but it removes more conditions from allies since buffed shout frequency (I wouldn’t say this could be rational compensate for warhorn nerf though)

Not sure of decent hambow build in these days. but I guess currently incoming random blindness is like hell so I guess this shoutbow build will work better than any hambow build right now unless anet fixes that.

This build can be made by him as well anytime after 2014 of feb the date that me and mercy invented this and hit top end of leaderboard, and he saw us using shoutbow a bunch of times while he used hambow becuz soloq system always matched us to him cuz its mmr base.

Viewing the problem in this way, Tarcis is also inventor of this build becuz he figured out by himself just like same way that I invented it by myself, slower than Mercy though. clerics > settlers. only bleeds and some burn will equate to zero damage in a teamfight where there is AOE condi clear.

The rampage nerf does very little because the class needs an entire trait specialization over-haul

Dude… who cares about who made the build? No point of keep saying you and your friend “invented” the build. Instead, made a build and run in a solo queue is totally different than made a build and run in actual tournaments. Everyone can make a build, but few of them can make a build and make it become the meta.

Man, it isn’t really a matter since all traits. skills, weapon sets are all same as outcome.
Maybe sigil could be a bit different though. But I dont care.. becuz Tarcis helped a lot of people to use this build as at the end. So I shouldn’t blame him becuz I know his effort as well. He is good and cool guy who knows when to change and react afap.

you know, on an unrelated note…

it’s totally pointless to argue who “invented” shoutbow. The same build with very minimal variations had been the standard wvw warrior frontline MUCH before it became popular in pvp, only big difference is that it used hammer on swap because bow only works for conquest and wasn’t using celestial because that too had much better stats there.

at some point someone just figured out it would work well in spvp too with some adjustments, it can’t really be called an “invention” by players from that mode.

“Invented” and “popularized” are two very different things. Even before the Specialization patch most builds “invented” themselves because of how simple the system is by design and because the devs intended they synergy.

Heck, I remember using using Shoutbow early on in PvE/WvW because I found the combo-system interesting. I don’t claim to have “invented” it, it was clear that the devs intended that kind of synergy to begin with.

Now, if you make a build become popular because you used it successfully via streaming/using it in a tourney/forum post/just using it in PvP, that’s a different story.

Lol no need to play fanboy games. I ran Shoutbow and Shout-lock all before it was buffed and viable. Its not an “unusual” spec, the traits were pretty much laid out for you, not a lot of real wiggle room, lol. Just be more civil, if he wants to be proud of himself, who’s it hurting? lol…

i’m pretty sure every single build are already invented in 2012..
you only have so much weapon and so much trait and skill to choose from..

i remember when warrior was free kill tier back in early 2013, i was running gs/lb frenzy war…and then i see a war with hammer/lb zerker frenzy for the first time and he frenzy CC chained me to death..i was like WTF

yeah, every single build could be built by some1you dont know. just dont take care is better

I invented both those builds (I always make my own builds) long before Tarcis ever made them popular (when people were still running frenzy 100b builds). People use to laugh cause I played Hammer or Sword instead of GS. Thanks Tarcis for popularizing them and inevitably getting them nerfed.

I miss my pre-nerfed hammer combos.

i invented shoutbow back in august 2013 when scrubs went all “wtf no stab you noob” on me. check sig. also havent played it anymore since patch because condi conversion from warhorn was a huge part of the build and healing nerfed, its not viable atm.

I invented the GS/axeShield-GS/axeSword in 2013. I deserve a Mini Llama

But yea, no one gives a xxxx about who invented what. With the small options that we have people re-invent builds all the time without knowing it that it already exist @ known build websites.

as players who chose to stick with warrior profession, who made what is irrelevant, what we need to do is to improve our current standing. like what burr said, warriors must unite!
