I need some warrior motivation here
Try using a sword in your offSET and adding its burst skill to the front end of your frenzied 100b. The immobilize lasts a looong time, and the bleeds get bigger as you stack might with your gs.
Edit: or even add it to the backend, switching out of your 100b 3/4 through.
(offSET, not offhand)

PvE is not the same as WvW is not the same as sPvP. They all require different builds. That is why I got over 40 exotic items on my warrior to regulary switch builds to be better fitted at what I want to do.
WvW requirements:
-3k armor+
-26k health+
rest you can put in damage the way you like. But these are for me the absolute minimum.
First troll to receive 10/10
Best golem driver EU
That’s not so helpful milkzz, those minimums don’t apply to every build or role in WvW. I think the OP isn’t turned off by having a difficult transition from PvE to WvW, he’s just not sure he can stay a 100b warrior after the nerf.
There are different builds out there for WvW, some people like hammer, some like shouts, but 100b isn’t necessarily dead, it might just not be as straight forward as before. Like I said in my earlier post, you can add to it (sword burst for example).
Wish I didn’t have to give up my rifle just to make a viable GS build though. Never fun to not have some range with fighting zergs. And yes, my OP is more about the WvW build I use. I guess I’ll give the sword shield/GS build a try. Not sure there are many other options with GS now at the moment.
When playing a warrior it really doesn’t matter how good you play. Everything depends on how terrible the opponent you’re playing against is.
That being said sounds like the thief was just trolling you guys and never engaging without his movement abilities being up.
Solution: Reroll a thief to do the same, Reroll a healy guardian and troll it up around towers and keeps you own, reroll Bunker Ele or reroll a tanky mesmer and try to stealth drop combat and wp out if things get rough.

Rerolling wasn’t exactly what I had in mind. Although I have noticed it seems almost any other class at this point is in a better place then the warrior. The thief I spoke of was most definitely not trolling. He was clearly skilled based on his ability to counter almost every move I could possibly make. That doesn’t mean I wasn’t playing well myself, which he was nice enough to mention how well I fought. The mesmer on the other hand he wasn’t impressed with. My point is more despite having the help of another player, good or bad, I wasn’t able to overcome a thief playing at my best with some of the best gear. I come from playing years of World of Warcraft arena, battlegrounds, and world pvp. Stuns, fears, roots, ect. aren’t new to me. But based on dueling some thiefs for a few hours, both the double dagger and the pistol/shortbow builds before the patch, the only way I could win those fights 1v1 was with the Frenzy 100B. Now I don’t have it, and now I can’t win( at least straight up fights). I’d much rather have another build to try vs completely rerolling.
Remember, you can always switch in your rifle when you’re fighting zergs, and swap back whenever you’re roaming!
Maybe you don’t understand what the meaning of a troll build is in wvw. If everytime he got low he disengaged and returned at full health he was trolling you guys. There was absolutely no way he could of died. You said in your first post he was training the Mesmer for 3 mins. That’s wvw trolling.
If your coming from world of warcraft you’re probably at a disadvantage. Gear really means nothing because it’s so readily available to everyone in wvw and is capped at lvl 80.
Please take a look at my Hammer build (I personally suggest the boon duration one, as its the best Overall build) I think you will have more fun and success with Hammer, as it is one of the strongest weapon sets for warriors in WvW. GS is also a viable combination with Hammer if you choose to not switch it with sword-shield as i recommend.
Motivation…
You can do it! Yes you can!
If you can’t do it, we still can!
Hmm vs a thief in most cases i will win simply because ever since I went lyssa spiked armor they die to retal. That being said skills like leg specialist and carrying some stuns seems to put thieves at a disadvantage.
Keep going don’t give up on warrior.

mace 5 or longbow 5 followed by longbow 3 make the thieves really nervous, nervous thieves make mistakes

The longer a thief stays around the closer to dying he will be. Try to time your crippled and imobs (leg specialist trait is a thief killer) for when you think he’s about to stealth and let him have it. The hammer as mentioned is a great weapon for thieves, but stun-eviscerate on axe is better IMO. The ones who are smart will run from a 2v1, and if they don’t, better for you. I run gs/axe-shield and have 3 ways to stop thieves in their tracks (gs4, axe3-4). 1 I always save for when I think they’re getting ready to stealth. I also have the shield stance button ready if they’re stealthed for the inevitable burst from stealth they do. If you’re low on health, dodge those heartseekers.
Thieves are only an issue when they’re 3rd man in or on the periphary of a zerg and catch you out of position low on health. They thrive on the 2 spam, so beware.
