I want to play Warrior as my main.. but..
Both can excel at in-your-face fighting. Guardians are safer because they have some useful damage mitigation skills and defensive buffs. Warriors are more straight-forward and aggressive. Technically, any class can be built up as a bunker of sorts, so the big question is what kind of play-style is most appealing to you.
Since you enjoy playing “offensive tank”, here’s a couple of videos I think will convert you to warrior
Monk was FOTM as hell when it came out lmao. Warrior is closer to the old Knight if anything.
I had the same problem as you my friend. Let me tell you that I leveled my warrior to eighty and my guild loves me in their group because of my tank heal shout build. Another thing is you see guardians everywhere as the warrior is a bit more rare. In high level dungeons I keep my party alive and condition free. I am always in front lines not dying and smacking foes with my hammer or axe/shield and its a blast. Try and find info or vids on bunker shout heal warriors. The downside is you cannot get shouts heal till around level 40 or more I think so PVE wise you will concentrate on dmg precision and power. Find a guild who will run you through dungeons so you start getting used to them.
Warrior has more potential for DPS as a Guardian has more potential for Support.
My shout heal warrior is my fave, but on the harder dungeon paths we always like to have a support guardian around.
[FIRE] Serene Snow, Warrior
Everytime its the same: After a dungeon everyone says “Nice healing back there Guardian” but noone seems to notice the 15 stacks of might I keep up more or less constantly on near players using Bow Blast and Hammer skills and shout.
Noone seems to noctice the 10 stacks of vulv you pop out of the blue onto every mob around
In my opinion the guadian feels slow and clunky. Cooldowns are so long that you often find yourself waiting for it. Maybe its just me but I like the fast paced play style warrior have. I like the weaponskills and diversity unlike Guardian were only 2 1/2 weapons appeal to me.

Maybe they don’t notice because you’re not actually doing all that.
Warrior is good because they do the most damage of any class and “support” skills are, in the end, just there to help weak groups. Guardian is good not for their group healing but for their ability to grant the group stacks of might while doing decent damage and having very good survivability with their stupid overpowered self-healing trait.
The problem with this game is that “support” isn’t really all that good because once you know the encounters well you basically just dodge the bad stuff and DPS has a much higher return in investment. You can see this in the current meta-game shifting towards Warriors + full glass cannon GS builds.

I have an 80 War and Guard, and I spend 95% of my time on the War because he’s so kitten fun. Don’t get me wrong, the Guard is fun with its big bag of support tricks; but the DPS on the War, even with a tanky build, just feels much more substantial – I can’t really explain it better than that.
And with 30 points in Tactics, you have the option of providing great support with group-healing shouts or healing banners while going DPS or tank in every other aspect of your build – granted it’ll be easier going tank with 30 tactics, but with food, buffs and rage you can easily have high DPS too. With Guardian..meh, you really need to go one way or the other.

Healing banners and shout healing are ways to contribute towards team survivability, but you cannot carry it alone. Both Guardians and Elementalists can have a build that has a much better survivability for themselves and their allies, with an equal damage output. Warriors are a lot of fun and are welcomed in most parties (up to a rather high level fractal), but our defensive brothers, the Guardians, have the Protection boon and a variety of situational shields that change everything. I mentioned Elementalists because an auramancer is capable of keeping up Protection 100% of the time (which equals -33% damage) and that alone saves more than we can. They can also heal. Quite well.
Well, unless you are going for level 40+ FOTM the Warrior is a fun choice. If you want to do more serious PvP, pick Elementalist or Guardian and if you want to run high level FOTM, go Guardian. Yes, we warriors contribute, but Guardians take the throne in everything we can accomplish (Damage, Survivability, Support, …). They are nowhere near half as fun though!
Note; I run Warrior main (Knight 25/15/30). Part of me dies promoting Guardians..

Yaki good point I never really thought about this as a “tank/shout heal/ hammer” warrior….BUT I am just got my first whole exotic set of AC armor and I am still gettin used to other dungeons so maybe for the newer player a tnaky war is better to stay alive to see what bosses and certain phases do? But I will probably ease my way to DPS ing again due to your comment because it does make so much sense!
