It should be a blow out not a simple kick away and they get up instantly and apply cripple. But I think it should be a 300 range charging flaming kick that leaves a fire field.
Not sure if the O kitten ious about these buffs…
In general I don’t think Kick fits the Warrior at all. You want to stay on your target with all your melee weapons, not help him to get away. Maybe the whole skill should be changed to some kind of CC (Immobilize, Knockdown, etc.) which actually helps to do this.
A blowout would probably be too strong for kick, at least not without upping the CD.
IMO, it should apply cripple, thus making it a short of chase down tool, or perhaps it could remove one or more boons, thereby giving a boon hate option.
it should crit them for 4345423543543 damage wearing pvt gear and apply every condition in the game for 100 seconds onto everyone in a 1200 range radius and have a blast field and finisher combo on a 5 second cooldown.

I really want more reel-in abilities as one of our main defenses against ranged and retreating targets. Only our Spear Skill 3 has it done right when underwater.

I would use kick all day defending keeps in WvW if it had blowout. Knocking some poor saps off the wall would be awesome. As it is I use kick as an interrupt on a fairly short CD.
I too would like to see more pull utilities.

Can’t agree with that more. Seems odd a primary melee class doesn’t get a pull. Even necroes get a pull and they’re more midrange casters.
Only if you pull them to you and it’s also a shout: “Get over here!”
And then do a proper Arcing slice (uppercut, remember) with blowout, rince repeat
kick works as an intterupt too, many classes have and they use channeling/ casting skills. You dont always have dodge. Some players see where it stands, giving it short leap made it very usable since intterupt is needed right away and you dont have time to walk near someone. The knockback allows it to be used in many other situations too, yet 240range is not broblem to melee player either, since you know when you are going to cast it you will also know to move that way immediately, or you can just use some of those million skills with small/huge leaps or rushes.

Utility skills are never as effective as weapons skills. Though kick does have that small leap that rifle butt does not. Not everyone is using rifle either, kick actually may have been pointed more to melee players.
Ever heard of 300? I’m quite sure it is used for ‘kicks’ when kicking someone off a cliffside in WvW. Its as useless as engineers ram utility.

rofl, I do use Kick for exactly that reason pretty often in WvW. It makes my day to kick someone off of a cliff and yell, “SPARTA!” in chat.
Nah, it needs higher damage and either a roundhouse animation or… or a flying dragon kick!
All for the blowout effect. One does not simply get up after being drop kicked by a warrior. An Elementalist’s pansy little kick flip leaves you on the ground for two seconds…

I just tested and kick definitely still hits at least 3 targets.

Kick has a cone targeting area just like a melee weapon. It can hit anything in the cone, not sure on the target cap.
The problem I have with kick is that it doesn’t really accomplish anything. Sure, it’s a knockback – if it connects – but the knockback isn’t far and by the time you perform the full kick animation, you haven’t gained any time in which to attack. You almost have to partner it with an immobilize for it to be useful. If Kick did as much damage as a regular attack, it might actually see use.
Kick actually hits 3 targets, im actually testing how its does in pvp. So far:
-its good to trigger last stand/ranger antistun (i dont rebember hows its called but act like last stand just without stability)
- doing well in breaking melee classes skills as well ranged ones if u get close..its also suprises them that actually someone kicked em in kitten.
-while i don’t like in general a knockback in melee weapons, this one is short enough to get back on top of em and hit them at once or twice, paired with bladetrail actually is able to pull 4 hits, if u runs a zerker build thats a lot.
I actually still using that just for lol, but as it stands now not worth take a ulitity slot for it.
As for pull throw bolas should do it, axe #3, hammer and sword #4 skills if they really wants to buff other weapons.
edit: Also increasing the range to 450 would help it.

To make the skill actually interesting you could vary the effects based on the direction you kick them in.
Front 120 degrees: Low blow. Interrupt, short daze.
Remaining 240 degrees: Push. If target is chilled, crippled or immobilized it does a small launch instead.
So when used against the person you’re fighting (chances are you’ll hit them from the front) you’ll interrupt and daze them, but won’t cause them to go out of melee range. If used to try and “rescue” someone, chances are you’ll knock them away and if you load up with a immobilize or cripple on the way in (or if your ally has also done this) then they will be launched.
Justification for the launch is that the enemy has some kind of movement-impairing effect and thus is unable to regain their footing after being hit by the kick, thus will end up on the ground.
And of course, reduce the cooldown please because lol 20 seconds. Remove the 3 target thing as well, as not even Charr and Norn have feet that big.
