Increase the range for eviscerate?
Eviscerate is very underwhelming for a burst skill you must charge up, especially compared to a spammable skill that competes in damage AND has a longer range, which more efficiently negates that short pause in the beginning of activating a leap.

underwhelming? o.O I one shotted more than ones players and they weren’t even all upscaled. I does the best burst in game (burst meaning the use of 1 skill).

You can’t directly compare two completely different skills from two completely different classes and until you realize why you can’t I suggest you be very careful about what balance claims you make.
HOWEVER: Eviscerate probably needs some tweaking. Probably not the range, but maybe the wind-up, or the smoothness of the leap. Right now it feels pretty hit-or-miss and I personally feel it’s important that such a damaging skill be more reliable to it. Powerful attacks should be something the other person has to counter, not something that I have to be right up next to someone on flat ground to land. I mean, if someone walks through you then the attack misses.

Kinda funny the original eviscerate was nerfed because of people whining about the range. You can see its old range on the warrior page
Perfect back then imo but I don’t think they’ll change it back any time soon -
They should just use the range and animation of the sword #2 leap for eviscerate. Its really hard to hit a target in WvW the way eviscerate works now. They should also fix the other leap / charge skills (bull’s charge, greatsword #5 rush), they miss to often / overshoot the target to be reliable.
They are hard to compare side-by-side because both are conditional. Eviscerate needs to be seriously charged, and 10 sec recharge if missed. Heartseeker they just need to be already damaged.
I have ended up just leaving my burst unused and just get passive +damage from traits. The long delay after the eviscerate (and it being worthless and almost guaranteed to miss while crippled), just means I will use it as an execute to do maybe 1 more autoattack compressed into that time frame.

If anything, i’d say the older Evis was more balanced.. It gave the opposing player more time to evade it.

lol range is only a small fraction of the problem. The biggest problem is pretty much all of Warrior’s leap skills, which have a very low chance of hitting a moving target, even if you are within range. That’s how buggy it is, which Anet hasn’t even bothered to fix since release.
