Is a lbow/sword & shield viable in general?
I prefer coupling LB with either sw/sw, hammer, or GS

I think then I will go with LB with sw/sw then, what would be some good trait lines to use? Sorry to ask but I’m clueless towards the warrior and just got back from a sort of hiatus from this game. Thanks for the reply as well
Here is a Sw/Sw – LBow build from a PvP streamer (Xerrex):

Obviously there are several variations on the idea, different traits or runes or sigils.
As an example, some people would probably only go 25 in Arms / 15 in Discipline, for an extra 10 to spend in any of the other 3 paths.

Thank you very much Serdoc for the build post I will get started on that warrior.
Hello,
As Serdoc has said, these weapons indeed suggest condition builds. If you’re talking WvW and not sPvP, then you can also consider some confusion build. Such builds use sword/shield and longbow, do high condition damage, and give you the opportunity to put confusion on your foes, by interrupting them.
The last two days, I’ve been playing with the following confusion build. It has only two interrupts, but confusion does come out nicely enough (9 to 12 stacks easily), and the condition damage is large by itself. I’ve had great fun against many thieves especially, who’d go down in a blink of an eye .
Confusion builds are fun, but not supportive to a group. If that matters to you, then consider using other condition builds, possibly with a warhorn.
Have fun.
Only in PvP not PvE or WvW.
Substituting the Shield for a second Sword is largely better though.
