Upon getting myself 2 jape weapon tickets and disliking pretty much every skin but the axe, I turned to my untouched warrior. Would axe/axe be a good weapon to PvE with? Will it hold up to other weapons? I’m only level 24 on my Warrior and haven’t touched a class besides Mesmer or Ranger in my life.

Celebratty, Dont worry to much yet since you’re only 24, and ALSO on Tuesday 25th there is a patch coming with warrior changes. So things could change alot.

Best thing to do is just play and level

If you want easy leveling Greatsword is gonna be your best go to weapon.

axe/axe will be the best damage combo for warrior for the next patch if those lame notes are true

30 10 0 0 30 is the way to go with 15% damage 15% crit chance +10%crit damage axe and gain adren with axe attacks -20% axe cd and dual wielding +5% damage

I run a DPS/Condi hybrid in small-group WvW and PvE, and I find whirling axe to be great after throwing down combustible shot for AoE burning, while still using mainhand axe for my primary damage source. Axe 4 is your go-to before you ever thing of hitting that 5 key if you’re not already running with fury up, specifically for rending strikes to proc bleeding quickly.

I use dual axe only with bloodlust sigils to get 25 stacks on npcs.
I never use in combat with players.

axe with warhorn or shield is stronger.

Come next patch if the leaked notes are true, its likely to be viable. I would expect to see people using sword /axe (jump in and then aoe), and axe + xxx alot too though, I dont like the lack of cc and mobility with double axe

I still like axe 4. Fury from great justice doesn’t last long enough and I don’t have a second skill to add in more fury unless I’m running the elite signet.

Axe offhand is pretty bad in the current build, hence the buff to it next patch. Skill 4 is decent but skill 5 has no useful DPS. It is however very good at gaining adrenaline.

If offhand axe reflected projectiles I would probably use it, but it’s just more damage, and low damage at that.
