I just recently equipped my warrior with P/T/V gear because it started to irritate me going down so quickly. Now that i have my traits maxed out on defense and tactics i can see a drastic change in survivability, but it also means doing far less damage…
I know a warrior has a lack of healing when compared to a guardian and this is not the usual “which one is better” related questions. But i do like to know if i can actually buff up my healing power or if it’s even doable/important with my current class.

I have a full set of soldier runes (V/T/Shouts remove conditions) which i really like and give me a huge advantage… Just wondering if i can do better?
I’m still debating wether i should equip my trinkets with either crest of the soldier or exquisite sapphire jewel and maybe use more healing consumables.. If it’s even necessary!

My main focus is on PvE, with a little WvW/PvP on the side for laughs with my friends.

(NOTE. I know it’s all personal preference but my main goal is to keep myself alive for just a bit more, without having to bother my mates constantly to revive me on a 5min basis…)

I’ve never tried full cleric set, but I have tried full cleric accessories, with PVT+solider armor. It’ doesn’t make a whole lot of difference in survivability or sustainability, but your power will be a bit lower.

I do not feel like doing one of those super long post where I link all the wiki info and math. The simple answer is warrior doesn’t get access to enough passive healing that scales well with healing power to justify it. Every type of bunker is really a passive healing bunker where you have many little heals that add up to big healing. From guardian to ele to ranger it all the same.

Warrior is incapable of being able to do this. If you are lookng ot boost your sirvivability then you are better off sticking with vitality and toughness. That being said even those will start to hinder you with time.

The DPS you lose on warrior going too bunker is huge in comparison to the survivability you get.

My real quest is are you trying to tank or just be “tanky”? For PvE you barely need tank gear. For me I went from full cavalier in the trinkets and full PVT armor to 5x pvt armor Chest is zerk and so is all the other gear save the back which is still cavalier with zerk ruby.

tl;dr Healing power will not do you much in the way of good. Toughness and vitality are better. In PvE you will start too with time remove more and more T and V until you find a comfortable level.

I personally only use Healing Power gear when I run a banner regen build (literally full healing power to get ~380 regen ticks on everyone.) Everything else I just go full Berserker.

If you don’t feel comfortable keeping yourself alive in Zerk gear yet, start slow with Knights or Soldier’s gear, transition to Cavaliers, then finally Berserker, once you’ve mastered dodging and defensive CDs.

Shouts can heal for around 2500 with a full set of cleric and the full defense line.

For PvE, I’ll still run 6 pieces of cleric, the chest, legs, feet, 1 trinket, 1 ring, and the amulet. My shouts typically heal for around 1500.

Gives you an idea of what how much you miss between a full set of cleric and a partial set. Granted, the pieces I have cleric on are ones that offer a larger bonus.

It is nice to have, not absolute for PvE but still nice to have but it also just depends upon your build.

From experience playing a healing bunker warrior. It’s not all that great, but you do live more than anyone else in your group that’s not a tank. Conditions and really good burst is our problem because our regen with high healing power can’t counter it wow. You’re best with either a Ranger or something than warrior.

shouts with healing power not very good. Running inspring banners with banner of defense in a cc type build with 15 in defense for dogged march semi decent for wvw.

In PVE, the warrior has the potential to do a great deal of AoE healing with AND survive some huge hits with a full set of Cleric’s. Right now, I’m in full Cleric’s Dragonic Armor with six Superior Runes of the Soldier, which gives each shout the ability to remove one condition (two for “Shake it Off!”).

Here’s the build I’m running: http://tinyurl.com/9tmgqsj

For this build, healing power is huge, and by switching between sword/shield and GS, I can still bring a lot of damage (and bleeds with the MH sword) when needed.

Happy healing!

Is ‘shrug it off’ bugged? I tested it in spvp match with friend and not only did it heal me for 2k (clerics amulet) but also removed the poison and bleed stacks he had on me (soldier runes).

I think runes of the soldier got fixed to allow shouts to remove conditions from others. With the runes, shake it off removes 2 conditions. It will heal if you have the shout healing line available.
