Is there a downside to a Warrior?
Their gapclosers only work in a straight line (You can exploit that by strafing)
Their gapclosers are also affected by movement speed (Cripple and Chill will reduce how far they go to the point of making the gapclosers useless)
They have no real way to stop damage taken other than building for toughness (Reducing their damage output) so apply damage to them and they won’t be able to evade/block/heal it up very easily.
There’s two kinds of people… The quick and the dead”
Others have said otherwise, but I notice my heals seem pretty weak compared to the heal skill I had on a few other classes.
Healing Surge requires 3 levels of Adrenalin to be of use IMO. the other two heals seem pretty weak.
also like all classes, the game mechanics for dodgeing seem broken at times, and sometimes you will be hit even if not in the animation. but thats a server problem that effect all classes.
but when you a class built around Armor and Melee combat being your assets, it can really hurt your advantage there. Same issue for all melee classes I know.
After playing Warrior, I know that Warriors may look big and bad in WvW, but thats really just a (HIT THIS TARGET) sign around their neck. This class is sort of like Illidan from Warcraft lore. He looks like a big kitten, but really pathetic joke dispite how kitten he looks.
They get kited even without applying chill or cripple generally. Which leads me to question why the hell did Jsharp not improve mobile strikes before hand.
.
Tell your squishies to not to try to facetank hundred blades… or warriors in general for that matter. Take a stunbreak, press your dodge button. If you’re getting instagibbed by warriors woe unto you should you encounter thieves…

Warrior weaknesses -
Cripple and Chill kill gap closers and escaping maneuvers. Making mobile strikes remove these conditions would be more ideal for warriors as its very crippling to the class as a whole.
Endure Pain should really stop all damage incoming. I dont think it should prevent conditions from being applied, but at least prevent the damage while Endure Pain is active. Strong condition build classes with decent mobility can kite a warrior all day until we die.
I love my warrior but I sometimes rage out because of crap they simply just cannot deal with. For example in WvW I run with a strategic open field guild that can win fights when outnumbered heavily, however if we dont have a few guardians and elementalists on, I’ll just get wrecked. They still have some pretty hard flaws, but I will say some classes are in far worse shape.
Warrior’s major weakness is predictability.
When on my Thief/Guard I meet Warriors I just blind/block/dodge/evade their tricks and then they are free kills.
Most of their skills need to be setup by first stunning the opponent in some ways, so as long as you’re stunbreaking or dodging the CC he won’t be able to damage you much.
They have no real way to prevent damage outside of Endure Pain.
And finally they are sensible to lockdowns/slowdowns.
You’re never killing a good Elementalist/Thief/Mesmer.
That’s the downside to Warriors. You’re hopelessly impotent in the face of their “cheap tricks” that will leave you confused and confuddled.
Do you even lift, bro?
I fully agree, that Mobile Strikes need to remove cripple and chill as well. It is a good trait, but it could use a minor buff, so our gapclosers and “escapes” (lol) are actually worth it.
Cripple/Chill are nasty, conditions in general are really. We do have several condition removal options, but mostly it becomes an all or nothing when speccing for them.
I would prefer our ranger to be slightly larger on certain skills (cough backbreaker).
Not to say the warrior is without it’s strengths, majority of which lie in damage output. I enjoy my warrior a lot in group play where I have support but sadly, that is the warriors design.. it needs supporting.
Personally one of biggest downsides is if you don’t use a greatsword you are gimping yourself It is really the bread and butter for a warrior due to it’s high (highest) mobility and very strong damage (best we can get if you take the trait too). Essentially leaving your other weapon for whatever you want be it control, ranged or suvival, all are options. Any other weapon as your “main” and you are very much limiting your options. (I expect flames for this ^^).

If they are doing a lot of damage to you then they are glass-cannon; just hit them a couple of times. If they are taking a lot of damage then apply conditions and laugh. They don’t have any tricks so as long as the warrior is in sight he’s not going to be evading, stealthing, portaling, wall of reflecting. So don’t rub your face on one-hundred blades and the warrior is pretty much a non-issue.
I strongly disagree with peeps saying HB/dps builds r the only thing a warrior can do. i can outlast the hb dps and then just beat the warrior down.
Im capt hammer spec. Shouts heal/remove conditions with solider runes. Not only is this build epic in grp’s i can also solo in it. Only peeps i find hard are Mesmers but i can beat em….unless there OP good then i run and heal they wont kill u through ya heals. Ele r just OP right now i can tank there dps easy but u will never kill one…but every class has issues finishing off a ele right now. As this build you hav 3200-3500 attack still not crit damage though but u run at 35% chance to crit all the time with buffs. So still big damage just not much bursty crits.
Rifle build makes us the highest single target range dps’r fun build to play, its almost thief burst at range.
This said im not claiming im epic….every now and again ill come across peeps who play there class so well they kitten me. But its the case with all classes if u r a casual player u r gonna hav issues against any class if the player playing them is a hardcore gamer…..unless its and ele for them is just faceroll across ya keyboard and u win.
