Is this personal variant of "meta" viable?

Anything is “viable” in PVE

This is the build. I dont mess with the infusions because i dont understand them very well yet.
And i have learned my lesson, dont ever post off yer phone.
I go 25 into arms for the 10% vs Bleeding foes and inspiring banners isn’t very useful unless your running some sort of banner regeneration build since most fights don’t really take place over that large of an area (or if they do its a larger area that that). Also Axe/Axe is fine for building adren but Axe MH out dps the offhand skills you should end up using your OH is a utility slot like OH sword for the block or mace for the AoE KD. You have to remember as well the base stats each line gives you. I run 30/25/0/10/5 grabbing Rending strikes in arms and Empowered in tactics (Which if i’m not mistaken is the current Axe only meta)
So you don’t need sharpened axes from the last tree for the 20% CD?
The meta isn’t meta if you change it. It’s not a variant meta, it’s just a “play how you want” build. Either play how you want, or play meta, don’t try to pass off a poor build as a “meta variant” to try and make your build seem respectable.
Most people believe the 30/25/0/0/15 build is the be-all-end-all build. It is not. It is only for multiple Warrior groups (which, to those of you are running multiple Warriors, why are you even caring about Meta anyway).
Interestingly enough, your build is only 10 points different to the actual meta, which is the 30/10/0/20/10 build. But the 10 points different is an absolute incredible amount of group DPS loss – just for Fast Hands.
I love Fast Hands, we all do, but taking it is a big hit to your team. Learn to play the correct build now, before you fall into relying on Fast Hands. It took me SO long to break the Fast Hands habit. You can level with whatever, but don’t use Fast Hands so you don’t fall into the trap.
Please note that offhand axe is an abomination of a selection, everything else, other than the Shield in 99% of situations, is better.

No. #2 is already super short CD, and #3 is a waste in pve
The meta isn’t meta if you change it. It’s not a variant meta, it’s just a “play how you want” build if you’re running anything other than 30/25/0/0/15 or 30/10/0/20/10 which are the 2 metas for different situations (30/25 being multiple Warriors, 30/10 being singular).
Thanks for the info everyone. Still learning all the lingo. Thought meta was a rough spreadsheet to build off of.
OK. I know this one has been beat dead. But is there any case where a sword/sword warrior based on ravegers gear would ever be needed in pve?

Not at all, a meta is not a template – they are fully fledged, theorycrafted and practical builds. A template would be called a cookie cutter build which usually has 10-20 floating points.

I’m going to put my foot firmly in the ground and say no … no … never. Conditions take too long to build up to their damage output – which by the time happens the mob/boss is often dead.
However, with the huge nerf to Critical Damage incoming (which I believe has been input in a spreadsheet to come out at a ~30% DPS loss rather than the 10% the Devs claimed), there could be a spot in the future, but only for 1 condition user per group. Do note this is no guarentee, and less likely than likely, but it’s something to be interested in.
As I said earlier, either play meta, or play any other build you find fun but avoiding speedruns. No communal player is going to mind people not playing optimally but instead choosing a fun route – until this player joins the speedrunning groups.
I’ve thrown my doll out the pram the past few days with more WvW PVT Sword/Warhorn & Hammer Warriors joining my PUG Speedclears because of the number of PvE players infesting their territory. Don’t be that guy.

Flissy, thank you for the advice. You should write a warrior guide explaining the pitfalls located in the warrior talents. I could see how fast hands could be a bad habit to fall into. I’m horrid at PvP so I’m sticking soly to pve and so far this game has been a refreshing break away from being stuck as a tank. Hope I can learn the ropes.

It’s not my position to do so. It’s not me who has theorycrafted or tested builds, so I daren’t try to pass any work off as my own, I simply pass information from elsewhere onto people who do not know where to look for such.
I, like most, are merely sheep who are willing to believe the players we deem to be good, who often represent acknowledged speedclear guilds with video evidence located on the Tube for You.
