It will get better, it's not all bad!
I’m hoping for a good round of buffs after the pathetic and repeated nerfs. Better trait synergy and a good, hard slap to the one who designed Mace/Hammer traits.
Adding Berserker doesn’t make the core class any better, and that’s where the focus of the buffs needs to be.

Definitely, they tried to make warriors strictly brute dps with no access to reliable support builds (banners, shoutbow, etc.) which people wouldn’t be mad about if the dps builds were not outclassed by everything.
A glassy hit and run gs does not sound like a warrior, hit and run sounds like a thief. I should be able to take hits as a warrior.

I don’t know if I agree with that. Warrior does not necessarily mean tanky. Warrior just means master of arms. There are plenty of fantasy setting warriors which were dex based rather than toughness based and relied on dodging and overpowering/parrying etc.
In fact, a berserker flat out went in, ripped stuff up, and generally died after the fact from his wounds. :P
Well, the Devs have said on several occasions that they want Warriors to be able to take some hits. But they’re clearly short of that goal in this juiced up meta.

When you put it that way for berserker, it makes sense lol. My issue lies in the GW2 description of warrior, talking about adrenaline. It is said that the longer a fight is, the stronger a warrior becomes, implying that warrior should be able to take hits.
Imagine if thief’s description was “They use initiative, the longer the fight last, the stronger thieves get” so you play thief and find out that it has to stab a few times and leave the fight before it gets two shot to death because it’s squishy.
Warrior is in a sad state but a lot of it – at least PvP-related -is caused by the overwhelming power creep that elite specializations have brought.
My biggest fear is that the new balancing patch will not improve the core class but rather will improve the elite spec.

While that may be the case, it would at least be refreshing. Really think about this, HoT has been out since October and even today there are ZERO viable berserker builds according to metabattle, has seen no professional play, most people now play strength instead of berserker anyway.
I want my elite spec to be, you know, elite.
That’s because Warrior as a base class is in a bad spot – berserker is tacked onto regular warrior – if they buff berserker so much that it matches other elite specs even with the broken warrior underneath that doesn’t address the issue of core warrior being in a bad spot.
It basically splits the population between: viable pvp warriors if you have HoT and not viable pvp warriors if you don’t have it.
