Hi! I really enyoj playing LB on my Warrior (much more than on my Ranger) in PvP and i’m wondering how can i increase its dmg and usage in sPvP and WvW? I would like to go with max possible dmg and mobility. Other weapon would be sw/sw/or shield probably, because i would like to go condition build mostly. Can’t imagine anything stronger for Longbow. + Some defense would be nice too
I know that LB is not meant to be number one weapon choice but i just want to have some fun, nothing serious … I don’t care about meta.
Any help and tips would be appreciated.

it sounds like you either want a celestial build or rabid, depending on if you still want some power dmg with your condi or just pure condi with no power. Both give defense but celestial would have better survivability and less condi dmg. Sword Sword is probably better for the extra condi from torment otherwise its probably gonna be hard to kill at all in pvp.

id recommend the tactics defense and discipline trait lines. Tactics can give you a trait to make your longbow auto attacks cause burning for more burn pressure and another trait that will make your fire aura last longer from leaping through fire field. on top of that maybe even consider fire runes for the extra aura effect that gives.

for sigils id go energy and doom on the longbow and maybe something like torment and geomancy on swords. Id think this might be a good start for the kind of build you might want for fun.

Whats great about LB is the Burning and Fire Field (Combustive Shot).

I use 1 Smoldering sigil on LB (Burning +20%). Now if you apply fire field, besides the Blast finisher which will give you Might stacks, you can use Leap finisher which grants you a Fire Shield (on being hit grants you Might and Burn your foe). Consider Sigil of Agony for your sword.

Sword #2 is Leap Finisher as well as Shield #4. So, you can either go Sw/Sw or Sw/Sh (for more leap finishers). Sw/Sw is for full condi damage.

Now for trait-lines consider using Tactics and try out Burning Arrows which reduces LB skills CDs and adds 1sec Burning to Dual Shot (LB #1). Apart from this, Powerful Synergy will let you activate Leap Finishers twice which means a Fire Shield will last 10secs.

Keep in mind that LB benefits from both power and condi dmg (like sword main hand).

Edit: The funny thing is, that with this build with Sw/Sw + LB i can also get great results in soloing mobs and elites: like i can do it even faster that GS + Axe/Mace lol.
I’m not yet lvl 80, btw.

If you are planning to use S/S+LB in PvE one of the best armor sets is Sinister (Condi, power, precision). You can either go fully (armor+accessories) Sinister or Carrion armor with Sinister accessories (for the plus vitality).

Its not Zerker but its close to it.

I only use it for soloing For dungeons and groups i would rather go with GS + axe/x.

Btw is GS/LB viable for sPvP and WvW? How do you mix GS power build with LB condi to be effective? Or, if i go Power, Precision and Ferocity build instead of condittion, will my LB dmg suffers a lot? Is there really such a huge difference? I would get much stronger Arcing Arrows instead …

Maybe a littlebit off topic but i love when people say LB has no power dmg.
My highest dmg on LB3 is 12k on a boss mob(hotw p1 last boss) with 7 vun , 12might , not full powergear
no stacks and no buff food usw…..

Do you have any condi gear or just power and precision? I might give it a try, cause i more prefer LB with GS than LB + Sw/Sw.

I also notice that my LB autoatack (with 1 sec bleeding included) do more dmg than Sw autoatack??? Jut a tooltip error?

If you want to see what weapon benefit from either power or condi just… see the weapon skills themselves!!!

Sword is actually hybrid weapon. It benefits from condi (F1 skill, #1, #5) and power (#3, partially #4). Same goes for LB especially if you trait it.

I know that I’m just a bit confused about how do i increase my LB dmg: with power build (no condi) or more condi and precision build or with mixture of condi, pow and precision … Mah, i will just start with celestial build for sPvP: it gives me mixture of everything what i need …

I don’t know the exact stat combo that will squeeze the most juice out of lb these days, but I can say with certainty that anything that buffs your might (and applied vulnerability) counts for double on a weapon like a traited lb.

You probably already knew that, but it’s all I have to offer.
