I’m looking for a warrior build for WvW group vs group/zerg. I’ve tried defectives build and find it doesn’t bring the CC and is best for small skirmish 1v1 etc. I’ve done the GS|Sw/Wh and again its so glassy for group but find it best for the 1v1/roam.
I’m looking to be able to do some dmg yet be tanky enough to survive our encounters vs zerg(we usually fight vs 2-3x our numbers). Some condition removal would be nice but doesn’t have to be over the top as its group fight we have condi removal. As for gear make a suggestion as I’ve so many tokens/badges I can buy several full sets.
I’ve went back a few pages and haven’t really seen any Hammer builds so figured I’d ask

If this doesn’t have enough survivability (or too much)for you, just change some armor pieces for knights/berserkers or trinkets for knights.
with this build you have 3 roots (sword autoatk.3, hammer 3 and sword burst), 3 stuns/kds (hammer 4&5+hammer burst), 4x condi remove with the shouts and the warhorn, 2x (3x in the 2nd one) stability and still some decent dmg
Hey thanks for the reply Build looks like what I’ve been wanting and provides some group support.
- This is what I was originally looking at in my other tab from lastnight brainstorming. Sitting back and looking at it thus morning 1. It’s a step above glass build in survivability 2. Looks more like focused on roaming with group play as a after thought. 3. Very close to what was posted when i forgot to hit “post” lol although in his build I see a sword instead of mace which makes sense for having a disengage.
This is the build I use when I run with an organised group against other enemy groups/zergs. I can soak up a lot of damage and also dish out quite a bit of hurt along with some CC’s but nothing excessive.
For zerging, imho, go for the following stats:
Health: 25,000
Armor: 3000
Crit: 15%
All the rest of your stat points into Power and Crit Damage. Either Soldier Runes or Melandru Runes for condition management. And 30 pts into Discipline for 7s Earthshakers.
Example build and gear: 0/10/20/0/30
A little low on the Health and Crit Chance, but close. Play around with the gear you have in the calc to see if you can get closer to those magic numbers.
Here’s another example with more expensive gear (Sentinels + full Ascended): 0/15/25/0/30
You’ll get extra Crit Chance from multiple Traits (Heightened Focus + Unsuspecting Foe + Critical Burst) + Fury, so you can skimp on that stat in your gear.
