Hello warriors!

A friend of mine finally convinced me to roll another character (I’m fairly casual, only 1 lvl 80 and I’ve played since launch).

Warriors are right up my alley (lots of control, good mobility).

I’m not concerned at all about what is “best”, but I have a few caveats and I’m hoping that, with these in mind, I could get some helpful tips and ideas from the warrior community.

I play wvw almost exclusively (some spvp). I’m not worried about a “zerging” build, because frankly I’ll just run whatever setup my guild wants for large encounters.

I’m looking for a good havok/dueling/roaming setup with three key elements in order of importance:

1. Least Telegraphed/Readable Skills (as in, low cast times, short/discreet animations)
2. Control
3. Mobility (in and out of combat)

any power build is far to telegraphed.
if you want to go with boring condition spec then sword/mace (if you have perpex) or mace/mace(more control less damage) or s/s if you dont care about the confusion and want torment and pick up a longbow. seeing you are a thief however, you will be disappointed by the telegraphs.

The least telegraphed skills are in fact not the control skills. None of the control skills besides bulls charge have mobility unless you consider shiled bash a mobility skill. It doesn’t move far and while hammer F1 burst is a leap I wouldn’t consider that a mobility skill it is more or less a gap closer that only works with adrinaline.. That is not an opinion it is what you need to know and what is true.

Gs is pretty fast weapon, #2 and #5 are attacking with light of speed, before ur enemy notice they will be dead.

Another one is rifle, maintly killshot, it takes 0.25 sec to fire off for 20k damage

We also have axe with high damage aa that takes olny 1 sec to finish the whole chain, and evi with insta cast 600 range teleport for some 15k crits.

The only way either of those GS skills are viable are when the opponent is stunned or you’re playing PVE. Otherwise, absurdly easy to dodge both.

.25seconds? KIllshot takes 1.75seconds.

It takes more than 1second to finish the whole axe chain too…

Going to assume you don’t even play the class. Or just trolling, can’t tell.

he means to say that pretty much anything in the warrior’s kitten nal is telegraphed, while a bit of an exaggeration is somewhat true.

ya its pretty obvious he is trolling as you can tell he is knowledgeable enough about the skills to know that the numbers presented were not true. I can’t think of any warrior skill that is light speed without frenzy. And the ones that he mentioned are not light-speed with frenzy.

So must be trolling.

Least telegraphed weapons in order of effectiveness: Sword, Bow, Axe (Last because of burst).

Control: Hammer, Mace, Sword (burst “Flurry” for immobilize), Bow (5th skill “Pin Down”), Shield (“Shield Bash” 1 second stun).

Mobility: Greatsword, Sword, Warhorn, Hammer (burst is a leap as mentioned above).

None of these weapons excel at all three, the closest thing you could be would probably be going with Hammer/Greatsword for the mobility and control, but they are highly telegraphed. You could go with sword/warhorn or shield and use a bow for some control with mobility and the least telegraphed skills. Its very difficult-impossible to get all three.

Play an asura warrior. Can’t see what they’re doing since they’re so small.
