Leveling a Warrior - What am I doing Wrong?
Well, from my experience, Leveling warrior isn’t going to be particularly exciting. Just equip Greatsord, Healing Signet, Dolyak Signet, Signet of Fury, Signet of Might, and Signet of Rage, Take the adept trait in Arms (I think) that gives you +40 prec per unused signet (you’re basically never going to use any of the signets except maybe SoR because swiftness) and at least 15 down Defense tree for “Adrenal health” minor trait, with this you can basically just walk around auto attacking things and pressing 2 even with high level mobs. Please do note unless the patch on the 30th changes a lot of things, the signet master warrior loses effectiveness around 60-80 because the bonus precision isnt worth your utilities, so switch it up around there.
Thanks Chai! This really helps.
So just brainstorming here: what are the big strengths of the pvp warrior right now?
1) Burst damage (GS, Rifle)
2) CC (hammer, mace, shield, LB)
3) Mobility (GS, sword, WH)
4) Offensive support (shouts, WH, banners, LB fire combos)
So rifle is a valid wvw burst damage option, although I feel you miss out in many situations due to lack of aoe. Also, as a leveling warrior with lower than average stats, your burst capability is probably low. That’s probably what’s holding you back.
I’d consider either switching to a cc role like hammer (just make sure you keep some mobility with either GS or sword as your off-set weapon), or maybe more of a support dps role. Both of those are going to be effective in a group only though.
Try Axe/Greatsword and leave rifle for tough bosses, it’s faster and more dynamic. You could also use a longbow which is pretty fun against large pack of mobs.
Double axe and longbow for DE farming or events is really good with adrenaline gain traits. Doesn’t get much easier than that for lvling.
Double axe, LB, and duel swords! Looks like I’m going to have a ton of fun finding what I like to play. I saw a video today of a Warrior using duel swords + GS combined with a high crit build in WvW and it was really fun to watch him take down even a well geared D/D ele. Goes to show, knowledge of one’s own class beats out all the time.
