Black Gate – Immortals of the Mist [IoM]
(edited by ArtemisEntreri.4138)
Morning Warriors,
Haven’t had a chance to do much research on the wiki since I’m at work and wanted to throw down a quick idea which I am sure has been touched on.
Lifesteal.
What options do we have combined with Dogged March + Adrenal Health can we stack to gain more health in return?
Off the top of my head I thought about:
1. Sigil of Blood - 453 HP w 2 sec icd.
2. Omnomberry Ghost - 341 HP w/ 1 sec icd.
3. Sigil of Leeching - 847 HP on weapon swap + attack (probably a 9 - 10 sec icd)
4. Runes of Vampirism - See below..
A. At level 80 the amount of life stolen from attacking after being hit from the 2 piece bonus is 975.
B. At level 80 the amount of life stolen after using your heal skill from the 4 piece bonus is 975.
C. The 4 piece bonus has a 15 second cooldown.)
Anything I’m missing? Also, do any of these share the same internal cooldown?
Cheers

Sigil of blood has a 5 second cooldown and all cooldown sigils share a cooldown so if blood procs you wont get a proc if you swap within the next 5 seconds.
Worse than that
On swap and On Crit share cooldown, so in essence swapping weapons puts Blood on a 10 sec. cooldown, if you swap often mixing oncrit and onswap is a bad idea.
And blood is not every 2sec, data puts it around every 7sec.
Lifesteal builds have been tested before and has of yet to prove themselves…

Warriors were actually a balanced pvp class when Omnomberry Pies had no cool-down, since our attacks were so fast, it gave us some highly-skilled sustain that we had to perform well to achieve.
When they removed the pies, they pretty much removed tank warriors from the entire game.
Lifesteal Sigils have been worthless for a very long time, and none of the developers had bothered fixing them. :<

That was the whole point of nerfing Omnomberry Pies. You aren’t supposed to deal a lot of damage and tank everything at the same time. What’s the point of running a full tank build which deals ~0 damage when a warrior could do pretty much the same and deal extremely high damage.
The Omnomberry Pie nerf was needed really bad back then. It also made other food viable which is a nice side effect as well.
P.S. Since when are you able to use food in PvP?
Has this data been tested on gw2guru.com? Where have these tests been notated?
I think if they are looking for a way to improve warrior survivability without changing is offensive nature lifesteal/life on hit could be a solution. The -5 sec on all heal cool down they wanted to do a few patch ago would have be nice. Anet don’t seem to want to give us boons and if they want to push on the punishing nature of destruction of empowerment they could give use life steal per boon on target.
I’m just pitching some ideas.

Ooo life steal per boon sounds interesting though thematically it would seem to fit necro more than warrior.
Maybe regenerate health based on how many boons then give it a value based on total boons like they do with adrenal health, beserkers power.
Ahh but where to put the trait or just add it to DoTE? This would definitely help when you come across a healway guardian and you are forced to chew on his retal.

It was a crutch that allowed people to play sloppily, deal good dps, and be as tanky as their non-dps tank counterparts. It needed to get nerfed, and tanky dps builds have been much more on par with other builds now.
My warrior longbow build got hit HARD by the nerf, but I’ll be fully honest, the build was OP and I could play it VERY sloppy and still live forever.

The only problem is it was also a crutch warriors needed to have any kind of sustain. I made a tanky knight-hybrid build. With old style crit food/sigils, I actually had some modest sustain. I was doing slightly more damage and had slightly less sustain than my friend: An equal gear, equal skill, knight-hybrid guard. It was actually extremely balanced in that case.
Nowadays, my knights-hybrid warrior still deals slightly more damage than my friends guard…. but my sustain is non existent. He actually respecced into the Guard trait that provides AOE Virtue of Resolve out of pity, since we duo often.
What I’m saying is it was fine to take away sustain for glass builds, but it also kicked the sustain ladder out from underneath hybrid and tanky builds as well.
