This seems to be a problem that’s becoming more and more frequently mentioned. Accidentally picking up banners, banner stealing, etc. I cannot express enough rage when I see someone pinch my banner to give themselves swiftness as they go back for more supply.

Solution: Lockdown banners. No one but the warrior who summoned it should have the option to pick it up.

I can’t go and move an engineer’s turret, I can’t move sylvari seed constructs, why can they move my banner? It is a tool that is placed on the battlefield to achieve optimum coverage, for other people to have the ability to run off with it is nothing short of absurd.

That would totally ruin the ability for a warrior to bring multiple banners into group play, wherein teammates help keep the banners with the group since you can only carry one yourself.

It’s possible for a group to effectively use multiple banners, but I’ve never really witnessed it. In my personal experience if I throw down more than one banner at a time it means that when the group moves one of those banners is being left behind. (WvW, random groupings)

Wear Banner is the way.

Ive experienced this too. I think only the party members should be able to pick up the banner

you unavoidable pick banner when spam F for the loot
same happen in wvwvw when ppls constant pres F in zerg vs zerg

you just shoot yourself in the leg.

the purpose of the banners is to be picked up.

lets say youre a banner warrior with four banners.

you deploy all of them in front of an encounter (WWW or dungeon etc)
then you have to move further…

so with your suggestion, you will have to run back and forth four times, wasting valuable banner time.

while in current situation your party members pick up the banners and you simply deliver them in a new position.

Why in the world would you use 4 banners? You may aswell run a signet build. Regeneration does not stack, the regen from one banner is the same received if four are dropped. Some minor stat boosts are hardly worth wasting the other 2-3 slots.

You’ve shot yourself in the foot if you do this.

But for the minority of people who don’t know how to banner, at least make it an option to lock them down, though I think this would be very buggy….

you run several banners for the area coverage in WWW and the banner effect (toughness, crit damage, etc) , and sometimes to ress people. not to stack regens.
also multiple banners is the best source of swiftness for zerg .

Don’t know if total lockdown is really the way to go, but I would love to limit the ability to pick them up to party members or guild members, or anything else that would put an end to the annoyance of people purposefully taking banners away to annoy other player’s, which sadly happens more often than I would have thought… sigh

You should be able to recall banners to your location as a 2 stage cast deal

I dont think anyone suggested TOTAL lockdown…….

Anyway yeah, banner thieves ruin the point of being a banner warrior. We either NEED a banner recall incase it’s stolen or a restriction to only party members can pick them up.
