Longbow, should I use power or condition?

I am in love with my longbow on my healing support warrior, but I need more damage, and my equipment stats are all over the place. I love that I can try out different styles on the fly in this game (I am a very indecisive person) so I have 3 different armor sets.
1. Clerics with runes of mercy. For when I want to use mace/shield and have fights that never end because neither side can kill the other.
2. Apothecary’s with rune of the trooper, for when I want to shout heal with Vigorous Shouts. (my favorite)
and 3. Berserker with rune of the privateer, for use with Phalanx Strength. Because damage is good.

My accessories are a jumble of stats that I managed to pick up as I went along. It doesn’t help that I changed my mind about what I wanted to do half way… I have 2 rampager accessories, a cleric amulet and ring, and a zerker ring. All ascended. And an Exotic celestial back piece.

Now I typically use 6 points in the Tactics tree for the grand-master traits and to improve my longbow/shouts, and 6 points into Discipline to get Burst Mastery so I can keep combustive shot going about 90% of the time on a good day. Last two go into Arms for deep cuts. I use Sword/warhorn as an off weapon.

So the point I am trying to get to is this. What should I do to improve my damage? is longbow a power or condition damage weapon? I can keep up a perma-burn on targets but a lost of the damage seems to be power based. Burn also apparently scales with condition damage less effectively, and if I get someone else with better condition damage than me also applying burn then it will use their stats instead. I am trying out Zerker, but I find the damage boost to not be worth the loss of my healing/adrenalin boosting/condition removing shouts. Unless I’m in a group that both throws out enough Might to make my Phalanx Strength useful and can handle themselves well enough that the shout support is unnecessary. I’m not in a guild, most pick up groups I join need the healing more than the damage. Right now my plan is to fill my accessory with all rampager’s and switching between Zerker and Apothecary’s as the groups change. But now I’m not sure.

What do I doooo?

For pug groups I think you are going a good route by supporting your allies. I think it will come down to you feeling out different stat combos and seeing which one feels best to you. If you want all of the stats you could always gear for celestial. I find that celestial is excellent for shout healing, but it can take some time to get.

Also putting a http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Sigil_of_Battle onto your longbow can help give you more might if you haven’t already, and http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Sigil_of_Force on your sword or warhorn for more damage.

Op also here’s a guide with some excellent information if you want to go full out DPS https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/DPS-guide-for-PvE-Dungeons-Soloing-More/first

If you like healing shouts, bleeding, burning, criting dmg, and toughness you will want full celestial with soldier runes. That’s what I run and it is mean as hell. S/s, lb.

I run 4 defense for cleansing ire, excellent adren builder on top of the condi cleanse. And 4 in discipline for inspiring shouts. But honestly either is fine. Mine = more condi cleans yours = more raw damage.

You won’t regret celestial gear unless you stop liking what is basically a condi bunker build. Exotics are soulbound and ascended won’t do you much good unless there is a guardian condi bunker build?

Oops sorry forgot. Some of the biggest “damage” you can do is putting a sigil of doom on your longbow since you lack an interrupt. Next attack poisons.

I can list out my full build if you like.

I was trying to avoid Celestial, I’m not sure why now. I was trying to get the most damage and healing power I could. But looking at the stats it looks like Celestial will have nearly as much damage as Apothecary’s/rampager’s, but superior healing and significantly higher defense. I guess I can go full Celestial for normal, and switch to Zerker/Celestial when I want more damage. That should be good for letting me try out different builds too, and save some inventory space.

Now if only I could get gear that was just Power, Condition damage and healing power. Like Zealots, but with condition damage. Ah well. Thanks everyone.

*edit: Whoa, it will take a while get it. at least the crystals aren’t too expensive.

Celestial gear is only if you are VERY serious about the build. I ran mine for about a year and went from exotic to ascended (which is not necessary for the armor/weapons). But I roam and -6% guard dmg and +2% guard dmg is more stats ;-)

Getting power without crit/dmg stats is weak for sword and longbow. Longbow has had several nerfs to its direct dmg. Sword only really has final thrust which if it fails to crit (if you land it) is a noodle.

Looking on wiki its appauling that there are 3 stat sets with condition dmg/ healing/ toughness.

There are 11 equipment stats with healing power and only 1 of 11 has 2 offensive stats combined with it, Zealot’s power/precision.
