I agree with you. The 900 basic range really make no sense at all. A warrior can throw is sword with his offhand at 900 range with impale but is not strong enough to use a longbow…
I mostly agree. Longbow should have 1200 by default (let Rangers have 1500 option to keep them “masters of the bow”). Stronger bowstrings should allow faster refire rate (20% increase fire rate).
However, I would keep longbow damage against burning (and even the new ’against immobilized foes by 10%) at the master level. That way, if a warrior wants to use longbow, there are two traits the warrior can take in Tactics to work towards such a build.

20% faster firing rate!? That’s a joke right? Obscene suggestions such as that is why the Warrior community isn’t taken seriously. Effectively cranking up a weapon’s DPS by 20% is OP. Now a 20% CD reduction on Longbow skills is reasonable.

Warrior uses longbow as engineer uses rifle:
he is strong, so can use weapons efficiently.
He is an expert tactician with a steady hand, so can use the rifle like a sniper would do.
But I don’t feel him like a high-dexterity guy, so he isn’t as good with the bow as the ranger.
He fixes the gap like the engineer does with the rifle: his attacks with the weapon are a series of low-range tricks (arrows that burn, explode, blind and pin down).
I like the idea that the two least magical classes live on their ingenuity.

Weird comment.. Isn’t as good with a bow as a ranger? Just remove it all at once then. Any weapon should be viable, otherwise it has no right to exist.
And why do rangers equal Warriors in the use of, for example, greatswords?
Longbow needs a buff.

Here are my ideas:
1. You are right, get rid of stronger bowstrings and let the bow be 1200 default.
2. Fix the bug that causes combust shot to not fire if your adrenalin level changes while placing the aoe field. (very annoying)
3. SInce you got rid of stronger bowstrings that bug goes away too.
4. Improve projectile speed across the board by 20%. Pin Down especially misses way too much for being a critical attack.
5. Change the minors in the tactics tree to support burning damage.
Minor 1: You burn enemies when you heal.
Minor 2: Burning lasts 1 extra second.
Minor 3: You do 10% more damage to burning victims.
Remove burning arrows and replace it with ‘Cauterization’; your fire field ticks remove bleeding from yourself and allys who are standing in it.
LB is 900 range because the niche of 1200 range weapon is already filled by Rifle.
Now, wouild make surely sense merging traits to make LB trait like other weapon ones – think about hammer and gs, have a cd reduction + additional effect – so might be:
LB Mastery: Cd reduction of 20%, range extended to 1200 units.
Scrap altogheter the other trait.
Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.
