EDIT: Revised to this after below suggestions. Why I picked Soldiers weapons I don’t know, I’m over the 2.8k armor suggestion, but that’s a moot point.
Unsure of what utilities/firsts 2 disc traits I should be using. Signet Mastery is striking to me, as I run SOR and Dolyak, but everybody seems to be using Warrior’s Sprint. Suggestions?
I’m rolling in unorganised groups on a pretty average tier server (Gandara).

A shout build is nearly worthless on a warrior. . We have the Tools to deal massive damage while remaining tanky as hel. Why would you build a Shout guardian out of a warrior. 0/10/30/0/30 is definitly the best hammer build. Melandru runes aren’t bad for zerging but mine is built for roaming so i have ruby orbs on it.
And cleansing ire is a most to survive with the hammer build. You can spam the earthshaker with burst mastery so you remove conditons.
Agree with above. 0/10/30/0/30 with pvt armour and a mix of zerker, knights trinkets for flavour deals huge damage.
Best build I have ever used. Some will disagree I am sure, but it works insanely well in organized guild raids. Keep a sword/warhorn on your for travel. You can tweak the build for sword/warhorn if you prefer the mobility during fights and the extra blast finisher…but I have had much more success with axe/shield.
Try various builds until you find one you like.
Shout build is terrible. You give up on nearly 50% damage to get a little 2k heal per shout.
I use axe/sheild also with my spec. Healing in kill rune on shield, flame AoE in axe (secondary axe has precision stacking for crit).
Forgot to mention all I do is unorganised zerging, editted into top post.

If all you do is unorganized zerg, say hello to canned Hammer spec.
For unorganized zerging, go more defense. You can’t count on others to heal or cleanse you. You will be more valuable to your side if you can stay upright and continue to stun and knockdown. With shout heals, you will be even more valuable. Also, being a front-line guy, you will draw a lot more firing because of TAB targeting. I would even give up destruction of the empowered for mobile strikes. You want to be able to leap no matter what sometimes. Dogged march, runes, and food is not always 100%.
90% of MMO players go for big damage. The 10% that don’t usually make the difference.
Agreed 0/10/30/0/30 is probably the best hammer trait set up. I got a 0/10/30/0/30 Hammer/Sw-SH build with a mix of kinghts pvt armor (melandru runes) with cavalier/zerker trinkets. Very tough, great in small groups or zergs, very strong burst damage, decent mobility. Not so great 1v1 against certain classes with certain builds. I swap shield for warhorn so that the lemmings can keep up (why can they trait their own movement speed?) but once I get close to the fight I switch back to shield.
This standard build is what i use… and i love it.

Yet your role in organized raid require shout heals. This is really good sustain and condi clearing instrument. Damage is not your problem.

Warhorn is pretty handy for removing the cripple/immob/chilled when you’re getting out of dodge. Call to arms helps with the might stacks when stacking too.
If you want a good build for karma training, or for at least having the best survivability and defense so that you can be the last one dead/escape in losing zerg v zerg fights as well as having the best set up for getting to and staying in capture circles in defended keeps/towers, I would run this:
Longbow is for zerg vs zerg so you are tagging more people. You can swap the longbow out for a greatsword when not in zerg vs zerg confrontation so that you move faster. You can also swap out the warhorn for a shield in situations where you are about to take a lot of arrowcart fire. This build has 30k hp, ridiculous toughness, 700 hp per second from healing sig and the adrenaline trait, two endure pains, a shield blocking skill when you pop it in, 4 condi removals on warhorn skill 4, another on skill 5 (because of trait), stability, perma swiftness, and second fastest build/profession in the game (behind some thief builds).
I have been running this build for maybe 5 or so months now when zerging and I’ve gone as long as 20 hours (across 4 days) or so without dying when we have had our zerg wipe multiple times. It’s also an easy build that doesn’t punish you for making mistakes so it is great for a new player.
Revised build/equipment, new edit is at top.

Support staff guard is better.
Shout heal build for war is basically for people who don’t want to level a guard or level and learn/have the skill to play an ele but still want to play the support role.

I know , but the shield suits my playstyle much better ( just seem too fair better when fighting with the shield vs warhorn.) My build already has a lot of condi removal, melandru helps with CC. Stability and shield block makes me pretty immune to everything. Also the shield gives my 1 extra stun to keep my opponent locked down while I crush him. I usually do try to get out of dodge, I like fighting to the bitter end even if I know it means death.

Sorry for the double post. I had a PVT soldier rune healing shout hammer build for commanding back when I used to had the time to do so. Sure guardian or ele is better at support is was still very effective at keeping my zerg alive and cleansed. as well as giving offensive boons. It worked rather well.
