I’ve been playing my theif since beta days, loved the class, still do.
But it’s way to squshy full zerk. Ever since I geared my warrior, half zerk, I feel like I’m far more useful. I get all the perks of a theif as well and do just as much damage and far more health/and survivabilty.
Anyone eles switch to a warrior from theif who kinda feels the same?

As a zerker, thief is so much reliable in anyway, burst damage, mobility to stick to the target, and a small time frame of lock down, its way more useful and easier to play, you don’t even need to be good mechanically, all you do is rotation and targeting and +1s, unlike point holders who should be good in order to hold points against multiple enemies and do 1v1s
Except for the fact that when you hit a thief you instantly go to 50% hp? besides, builds don’t even get all of those “perks” they have a select few in each build and have to play perfectly with them in order to not get absolutely destroyed by specs that deal just as much or more damage to them than they do to whomever they are fighting (so no, not easier to play zerker thief but definitely more reliable if you can play it really well because thief does have a higher outplay potential due to their abilities being active rather than passive). But for relaxing warrior can be decent fun at times and remains very strong in pvp due to the easiness of picking them up but still the potential for high success you have when you play it better then the 12345 spamming noobs who try this class to get a feel for pvp. (not a bad thing it’s just they don’t play it as well as a very experienced warrior could)

Former thief, love warrior now. I just enjoy fighting in the open, no more hide and seek. If you feel thief is too squishy why not play a condi thief? You’re tanky and u can do good condi damage.

I don’t think this is true tbh. Shoutheal is one of the easiest build in the game after turret engi. I don’t consider myself highly skilled mechanically and I can beat much better players than me with a shoutbow warr in a 1v1.
It has so much sustain that the player doesn’t even need to dodge properly and would still win any 1v1 on point just with weapon swap and the firefield. Its a very passive game play compared to thief.
And yes thief can be considered easy in tpvp because it doesn’t have to 1v1 but it doesn’t change the fact that 1v1 ing with a shoutbow is extremely easy. And even if you fight another shoutbow player that is better than yourself, you aren’t going to kill each other before help arrives.

It’s a lot easier to win in soloq when you can simply out rotate or burst reliably. tanky builds can determine the out come of the match but only to an extent.
when you get a thief who knows where to rotate, know when to leave when to come etc even hes not good mechanically, it’s still gonna be deadly and crucial for fights.
and it’s even more reliable to win in soloq, when you can fast CC without major CDs
farther more i was more comparing zerkers to zerkers, because shoutheal in soloq is just too boring for me..but that’s just me
in pvp i have around a 80% chance of losing to a thief, in wvw i have 80% chance of winning vs a thief [maybe because of the open field or maybe because good thiefs go to pvp]. if i lose to a thief in wvw is because theyre most likely full zerker and definitely know when to dodge and counter. other than that i usually just stick with auto attacks, random dodges after like 5 seconds of going into stealth, prepare to dodge asap when they reappear, and sometimes random wide range attack. this doesnt always work though and sorry to disappoint some of you but this is the only way i can get around them.
and i also run a full zerker shout build gs/hm so this gives me a bit of a boost in health.
i tried running full zerker with stances 20606 gs/hm and i feel too vulnerable and kind of boring. either i out damage my opponent asap or i just lose to them. i pop my stances and i get ready to just dodge and attack. while with my shout build i can turn things around.
I too have had my thief since the early days but I’ve grown bored with the P/D celestial build and just started playing around again with my hybrid warrior. In the last few days since I changed, I’ve not lost a single duel and really enjoy the versatility of the warrior.

Hah. Not at all. Start using the Thief crutch aka Shadow Arts and sprinkle (or go all out) in Steal traits.
The issue with Thief is there is limited options with playstyle (meta) but that is just as true as it is with Warrior. The role in PvP is almost polar-opposites so it’s a playstyle choice.
