Hello there!

I am currently working on Moot, and I would love to have it in WvW, but I don’t see a lot of WvW builds with a mace offhand, and certainly not in mainhand.

Does anyone have a good roaming build that uses a mace?

Tanky zerg-surfer; distract the horde while the 1-2 others in your roaming party running bursty specs jump in n’ out periodically to down people. Secure stomps while the bursties cleave.

1-hand Warrior for fun. 1v1 and can stand up to some 1v2s. Can use Bolas if you want in place of BCharge. Mobile strikes also good trait choice.

If you are doing Mace mainhand, the obvious good choice now is the duelling cavalier/valkyrie Mace Shield GS. It’s very strong 1v1 because 2 full mace stuns + 100 Blades can kill almost anything. However the F1 is very telegraphed.

Mace offhand can work well in a full zerker axe/mace, X build, as demonstrated here by Vaanss here with hammer as your other set (a GS would be more common):

The mace/shield, GS option that Ralkuth suggested is very strong too (you could even run mace/mace, GS for even more disco times)!

Best of luck making Moot – it will have lots of uses in WvW as a warrior.

I would not recommend Vaanss build for mere mortals.

Mace shield GS is perfectly fine for all others though.

Seriously, everyone, thank you for the replies. I definitely appreciate it, and will try things out after work.

Mace for warrior is amazing paired with Axe/Mace and play with dual-wielding trait in strength. Another good weapon set is the old fashioned Mace/Shield with GS in offset. Skull crack and then swap to gs for hundred blades.

Just feel like putting in my ten cents, been trying to make this build work with mixed results. Tried making a build with out using the signet heal and I haven’t exactly perfected it yet but it works pretty decent so far.

It’s been hard to tell how much good Dual Wield Agility is actually doing, but It seems to make the mace skills a little more responsive and slightly less telegraphed. But, if you don’t like it, switching it out for Furious is a good way to go IMO.

No mobility, and axe offhand… How exactly is this working for you?
