what is better for WvW?
rune of melandru or soldier ones.

Current build I use 2 shouts with a 20 sec cooldown each. Also can remove conditions with the warhorn.

If you’re playing as support? Mercy. Being able to get people up faster (not to mention taking less damage while reviving) makes a pretty big difference if you need to pull someone out of an arrow cart orgy.

Well my warrior is not my main WvW toon atm that is my guard. Don’t really care to “support” others. Just want to burn conditions off my kitten as fast as possible.

If you are planning to play in zergs, shout warrior with solder runes is only thing you need. If you want to play some roaming build without shouts, melandru or hoelbrak runes.

Well I am trying to survive in Zergs. My roaming character is my thief. Hopefully that helps out more. Also if I go with soldiers what food do you recommend?

If you are buying P/V/T Karma armor, or have the money, I’d suggest Melandru. Even with a shout build they are awesome. Having all those stuns and conditions roll off let you get out of a lot of ugly situations.

If you’re looking for something cheap to try out, Soldiers will work.

Shouts are so bad though…

Why do you say shouts are bad? They provide a 2200+ heal, and condition removal/might boon for an entire group of people. I’m not sure why anyone would be down on shout builds.

Well, investing 20+ points into Tactics is pretty bad if you want to do much damage; anything more than 10 pretty much makes you a support build, and that means your job is mostly to stay alive, because as long as you’re alive, you can keep everyone else alive.

But I just read earlier that the Toughness boost from Mercy runes doesn’t stack with the 10 point minor trait, so I might reconsider my Mercy runes, honestly.

If you’re focusing on shouts, Soldier runes are a no-brainer.

I can attest to melandru runes working great in WvW. Since adding them to my valkyrie armour plus food buffs i last longer than pretty much anyone else in zerg fights or roaming small skirmishes.

Both are good. Hoelbrek is cheaper so if you have coin get melandru but if you’re not rich get Hoelbrek.

I think it depends on if you run in a guild composition or just pug your groups. If your guild has a Guardian (better shoutter than warriors) then go with whatever. If Warriors in your guild is the primary condition remover than go with soldiers, Melandru is more of a “selfish” rune.

In our current guild composition our warriors don’t use Mel or Soldiers, Guardians do most of the cleansing and Warriors actually have a tons of condition removal/reduction without the need for Melandru or Soldiers.

I would go with Hoelbrak for more offensive or even travellers if you are bigg ballin’.

Honestly, that’s a preference question.

For me personally, I don’t think that having the -stun duration% is going to save me when I’m getting pounded by a zerg. And I haven’t ran into issues with stuns in other settings. I am also already running half of my gear as Knight’s with 25 points into Defense, so I have fairly high Toughness. And finally, I use For Great Justice and Signet of Rage, so the extra Might Duration is actually pretty neat.

I mostly roam/solo roam so I was thinking the extra power of Hoelbrak couldnt hurt. Im sitting at around 3k armor which i believe should be enough seeing as how i have about 300 less on my guardian and do fine with him. But i already have 2 runes of melundru that came with the karma armor so thats what makes the choice hard for me.

I already got traveler runes on my gaurd and i dont think i want to spend that much for some runes again anytime soon lol. The cost difference between Melandru and Hoelbrak isnt a big deal for me i just want something that will go good with my roaming warrior.
