Zraiyya – Asuran Elementalist | EVOS
Akkodi – Asuran Engineer | EVOS
Hey warriors, a mesmer here, and I need the name of a warrior skill/trait that practically makes the warrior immune to all hard CC’s and soft CC’s until a certain health percentage. I was roaming in WvW until a warrior got the drop on me and I just couldn’t get the upper hand no matter what I did (since the build I’m using requires blind and stunlocks to deal condition damage) and I quickly lost.
If anyone could help me out here that would be awesome, I need to learn how to counter certain things and this immunity trait just got added to my list. Thanks!
Sounds like berzerker stance and balance stance combo.
Stances are very popular. Durations are about 10 seconds.
Resistance, swiftness, and stability.
As was said, Berserker stance gives Resistance for 9 seconds (all condis on the warrior are ineffective while Resistance is up) and it’s on a 60 sec cooldown.
Balanced Stance does the same with stability and works for 8 seconds, on a 40 sec cooldown. There is also a trait called Last Stand that automatically triggers balanced stance when the Warrior is hard CC’d, with a 40 second cooldown, which is probably what you encountered.
As a quick correction, those stances actually pulse the boons for the duration, so untraited and no boon buffs you get 12s resistance and (I assume) 12s of stability
as for hard CC, Any stance, stomp, Berserker, Defy pain trait, Last stand trait, Shake it off, Shrug it off trait, Dolyak signet, outrage, and Headbutt can cancel your hard CC. On top of that, a warrior who goes into berserk will be clearing pretty much all conditions every 5 seconds with their bursts, swaps, resistance etc. soooo thats your problem
Oh and that massive CC of yours that picks us up and drops us over like 5 seconds? yeah it only takes one stun break to completely negate all of it.
As most of those here have said, the bulk of that was likely due to stances. If you notice your CCs and condis failing, check their bar- odds are they’ve got at least one stance up. These stances, however, are on a pretty high cooldown, so you might try backing away until they wear off and then re-engaging.
