Mesmers keep trolling me!
kill the clones while searching for the real one – and dont forget to select target ^^

You don’t have enough mobility to stay close to them. Mesmers excel at kiting. You’d need to take a sword and/or greatsword to keep up with them. Also remember to cleave down their clones as fast and as often as you can to negate their bursting potential and to make staying focused on the real Mesmer easier.

i have the same problem, i find condi mesmer to be the hardest out of all the classes. i focus and try to keep track of them but when i get to them stealth and a new clone, appears somewhere and bang another clone, run to them and stealth before i get to there and did i mention another clone. next thing you know your skills are in cool down, half health and with a lot of conditions starting to eat you away.
honestly i dont even bother with that class anymore, when i see one roaming in wvw i just keep going to my destination or run from them. idk thats just me
i figure you burst them really quick or else is like getting spam email
so i guess i should use a GS to have more mobility. Ok, i will try
Thank you, guys
If you take the advice to just kill the clones … my on-clone-death build will tear you apart. You need to quickly realize whether or not killing clones applies conditions to you. If it does, that advice he gave you will get you killed.

I treat PU memsers in the same manner as turret engi’s: I don’t 1v1 them. You will die in almost every encounter if you try to 1v1 a PU mesmer, they are pretty much a direct counter to any melee class. The best course of action is to not waste time, let them have the point as you would a turret engi and just out rotate them. Shatter memsmers are almost as bad, but if you can dodge their mind wrack you can take em down pretty easily.

Vs. PU mesmers or other heavy condi mesmers, GS does wonders in its whirlwind evasion phase. Even when they are doing their block>torment, the whirlwind will proc the block but evade the condi apply.
I’ve had lots of success running axe/s GS with reflect missiles + signet of stamina and zerker stance. Cleansing Ire helps as well, but you have to time your eviscerates well. Remember that mesmers also have several attacks granting evades/invul so be careful.
My usual strategy is to block with s 5 towards the end of the mesmer’s invis phases, GS 5 towards mesmers as they appear, don’t attack or whirlwind on mesmer blocks, and condi remove/immune as necessary. Remember a condi mesmer’s main offense relies on your moving to proc their torment or attacking when you have multiple stacks of confusion. Stay out of chaos storm or when they have chaos armor, simply use whirlwind or don’t attack/use sword 5 to reflect attacks.
VS PU or condi mesmers, it’s usually a very long fight to resolve, for Shatter or Shatter hybrids, it’s a much quicker fight but I think it’s def winnable.
Idk if you know this (I always forget) but tab shifts through the available selectable enemies. So you can target nearest foe and swap through until you find the real one and save yourself some frantic clicking. If you make a mesmer and play for just a little bit, you’ll quickly be able to differentiate between the behavior of the clones and the real one.
Tricky mesmers will play mind games with you like Shaco from LoL and try to mimic the movement patterns of their clones so its even harder to tell them apart. So then the easiest way to find them IS to kill every image of them. Watch out for any condis being applied to you when you do this though or else you’ll kill yourself.

To beat Mesmers you either need a Longbow or a Greatsword. If you have both, most Mes builds will be fairly easy to beat. Try to save your AoE for when the clones begin to go for the burst. If you see several clones in one spot, drop your Combustive Shot and Arcing Arrow there.
Also, save your Whirlwind Attack for emergencies. If you get immob’d and you know a shatter is incoming it can kill the clones, avoid the clone death effect, and avoid the damage.
You can maybe win with Axebow as power, but probably not against a good Mes. Now, with that trait loadout and a sword offhand and Celestial (I hate the ammy too, but you can’t deny it’s use) you can go Axe 3 (to immob) and Sword 4 and that will punish them for moving with torment. Using Evis through Combustive Shot will give you a fire shield that applies burning when hit and gives you might. That build has enough conditions to punish most mes builds.
You could probably even still get away with using Zerker gear because the might stacks will still up the condi dmg.

Good advice, but most Mesmer’s aren’t running a Shatter build AND on-clone-death effects … because shattering clones kills them but doesn’t trigger on-clone-death effects … because … reasons.
Still pondering that one to this day (since release <_<)

Why keep people saying you need more mobilty vs mesmers, GS or longbow etc.. ?
You can kill them with melee only aswell, as long as you see were the mesmer is going its fine.

Outside of duels, when I play Mesmer and my enemy has little mobility I’m going to abuse the hell out of the terrain and never be anywhere near them except for shatters.
That Mesmer in the video stayed way too close. They should have waited for your Earthshaker and then blinked away the opposite direction before it lands. If the blink is traited then you’re now out all by yourself and will be hammered on your way over and if you land Mes’s GS 5 then you’re pretty much screwed.
They also placed their clones all in range of your Hammer AoE.

Use long bow (Soldiers or Celestial) and then call it skill. Also, play on conquest too because WvW screws Warriors way too much anyways to be considered “serious.”
Schwahrheit, #1 Fuhrer NA, Just your everyday typical rager
Warriors are the easiest to kill class on mesmer and the fact that they can actually beat members still speaks on it own… anyways get hammer gets and spam the with CCs on a soldiers aim with intelligence sigils and they won’t be able to kill you gg

At black truth Warriors are very good at wvw being faster than even acrobatics thief and dealing high damage.

This mesmer was pretty bad. Did he even use blurred frenzy? I don’t see him trying to use ileap either. Watching on my phone so it’s hard to tell but obviously he was using GS too much while running away…. he also didn’t mass invis and I didn’t see him use decoy either. He should have timed his interupts better as well. The time he does get magic bullet off he does nothing to take advantage of that except to run away some more lol. Between distortion, blurred frenzy, blink (stuns break) and decoy (stun break) hammer CC is pretty useless.
I agree that it is harder for mesmer to deal with LB. That’s you’re best bet to counter it.
