So I was giving some thought to refining the ideas I had when I made this thread …
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/Adrenaline-A-dream-of-how-it-should-have-been/first#post2306436

I felt the adrenaline system could be made to stop fighting itself by the addition of a derived mechanic that piggybacks on the existing adrenaline system, encouraging you to use it more to gain the benefits instead of sitting on it and never using it.

Morale as a mechanic
At the base level morale is sort of a secondary form of hp except delivered in small doses through increased damage mitigation as long as you can maintain it. As long as it holds it provides a flat 15-20% damage reduction (unsure of exact reduction, not exactly great at balance) and when it reduces damage that damage comes directly out of the morale level.

As far as building morale each strike of adrenaline generated gives you 0.4% of your hp pool as morale (base warrior hp this is about 78 hp) for a total of 12%for a full adrenaline bar. In the interest of secondary effects attached to the mechanic this would top out at 20% of your hp pool for 100% morale (again using base warrior hp that would be about 3900 hp). But if you can no longer generate adrenaline because your bar is full, you stop generating morale as well giving you the incentive to be active rather than passive in your adrenaline use.

When you take damage as long as you have morale in your pool, damage taken is reduced but that reduction comes straight out of your morale. Empty morale and you’re back to taking full damage.

As far as the current incentives for sitting on your adrenaline go (Berserker’s Power and Heightened Focus) they would move to 25, 50 and 75% morale instead while Adrenal Health becomes a flat heal for adrenaline used.

Weapon Mastery
As far as using adrenaline it would be helpful to have a secondary way to spend it rather than what amounts to an extra attack per weapon.

With the addition of an F2 skill that briefly enhances your current weapon’s strengths as long as you have the adrenaline to fuel it we could add a bit more strategy to the adrenaline system. The option of burning all your adrenaline for something devastating or playing the long game by making your weapon’s base abilities stronger.

Only had time to give some serious thought to 2 weapon’s ability in this regard.

Sweeping Strikes – Greatsword
While active the melee cleave cap is raised from 3 to 5.

Sniper’s Aim – Rifle
Disable’s critical strikes, attacks ignore toughness.

Anyway I’m half asleep and will probably regret posting this in the morning but I needed to get that out of my head.

Callo Merlose – Revenant
Envy – Fort Aspenwood

It has pretty good merit. Reminds me of what Tera did for the Lancer in regards to a block bar so you couldn’t blocking infinitely. It would bring about some more depth to the class and your ideas are good but not balanced like you explained.

"When you take damage as long as you have morale in your pool, damage taken is reduced but that reduction comes straight out of your morale. Empty morale and you’re back to taking full" - This idea is interesting but there would need to be a % reduced instead of a full blow going straight into morale and not your HP.

Sadly, that is a big mechanic and probably something Anet would not want to develop and perfect since they have a hard enough time balancing their current classes.

So basically it would be a 20% effective permanent death shroud that built up very slowly via adrenaline gain? I mean, it’s a great idea but I agree with Entreri, it’s too complicated for Anet to actually consider. I seriously doubt they are going to do an actual full rework of Warrior base mechanics.

Now an F2 that toggled a passive effect depending on weapons equipped, sounds like a believable idea and I could completely get behind that.

Tis sad there are some pretty intricate ideas that float around to make the warrior class diverse and challenging but Anet isn’t equipped with the tools or the ingenuity to implement them.
