Guild Wars 2

Let me just start off by saying that I am perfectly aware that this is not an overly important topic, but I do believe it would make Warrior more fun to play.

Compared to other classes, warriors’ animations are nowhere near as interesting as other classes. The weapon with the best animations currently would have to be hammer. It’s 1 skill combo makes a burst of air on the third strike. The burst skill Earthshaker also has a very visceral look to it as it cracks the ground under it. Longbow has some cool looking skills, but the auto attack is so terrible and so is sustained dmg so it’s only used in WvW most times.

Most weapons however don’t feel as fun to use. If weapons like sword/axe/mace had animations like the hammer it would be more interesting to use. Maybe Savage Leap has a explosive effect when you leap and has a burst of air shoot out from the sword. Perhaps the basic axe combo has little air blades fly off the axe.

Some people hate all the animations in this game, and that’s fair as there should be an option to hide them. However, it feels lame that most of the weapons/skills on my class of choice are so plain compared to some of the more flashy classes.

Once again, this isn’t even an issue, just something that I feel would make the class more enjoyable to play.

eh…right now majority of people use warrior so i wouldnt put my money o nthem adding new animations. they focusing on makign the less used classes appealing.

since warrior has skills like 100b strike, kill shot, and whirling axes(or whatever) it has a pretty high fan base. oh..and aimed rifle shot(cause more people like aimign the rifle than using it liek a 1 bullet shotgun)

once people start playing other classes(hopefuly alot of rangers after this ranger patch today) then they can focus on changing animations.

i doubt they will want ot throw away thier animations they have right now, but an idea would be to make a new animation for a skill if it hits a critical.

Honestly, the only reason it was the most popular at launch was because that’s what all the bots were. After the Great Bot Purging I see a lot less warriors at least on my server.

They don’t have to throw out most of the animations so much as add on effects. I focus on hammer because it actually feels fun to use except for 2 of the skills that root you.

i remember shortbow ranger bots, and guardian staff bots, but warrior bots o.0 what weapons did they use?

and dont go into WvW, you will see alot of warriors…and thiefs…actually i kinda like the thiefs…they go down quick.

I saw a ton of tanky greatsword warriors that just used 100b and auto attack. Again, it’s server dependent. I don’t WvW much on sorrows furnace cause w kinda sux.

Best bots I’ve seen were warrior axe bots, really nice to follow with MF gear. xD

I disagree with that. Outside of just killing mobs in PvE you’ll die more in dungeons and PvP using greatsword. Do you play warrior a lot? because honestly it’s not all the great.

no, but i got a challenge for you. go in PvP. use quickness and then hundred blade.

you just did 30k dmg in 2 secounds.

in WvW with the render issue and all the conditions being thrown around like cripple, that is a 1 hit guarentee. which is why i despise it.
at least with kill shot you have 2 secounds in which u have to charge the shot and they can prepare to evade.

I agree to this. It’s why the warrior looks more boring than other classes. I enjoy my warrior just because of the idea of being one. Otherwise its animations are very plain and stale, with the exception of the hammer.

You have plenty of time to avoid most of the dmg tho. Even with Bulls if you have a stun break it’s child’s play. Even dodging bulls isn’t hard. People just expect it if they see a war with gs. If you’re clever you would have Axe/Shield then stun to see if they pop the breaker. If they do then you have a chance of hitting bulls but even then GL if the opponent has a brain.

Yup, although we do have the advantage of most dungeon armors looking best on heavies. My hammer is an anchor as well XD.

Hammer does have the coolest animations on warrior, however I personally never pay attention to then in dungeons. Maybe thats just me.
