I main a necro and am fairly proficient at killing warriors.
Now I want to create a warrior to kill necros.

I want to ask the advise of the warrior tribes here of the best necro killing build 1v1 in WvW regardless of whether the necro is a power/condi/hybrid.

IS THERE A BUILD OUT THERE THAT CAN SOLIDLY SAY THAT IT IS A NECRO WRECKING BUILD?

This is the necro-wrecking build that I have in mind. What do you guys think?
Depending on sword to cripple and immobilize + burst to immobilize, + shield stun, switch to greatsword to hundred blade + fear shout + frenzy

Zerk Warrior destroys all. Stay in the Necro’s face and they’re cake.

Look out for condi Thieves, condi Engi’s and trapper Rangers.

well..i have watched my fair share of warrior builds and videos and streams but am not sure which is the best warrior build to rekt all necros.

So far the Rifle/GS and the GS/Sword+Shield (binding+fear combo) looks strongest.

But IDK…

GS hammer all the way^^ If u were to go with shield as zerk id pair it with axe, not sword (as its kinda DoT).

anything with hammer and zerker stance counters necro hard really, being necro and warrior my two most played professions i feel like war is the best class to take down necros anyway.

if you wanna go full HAM on them you might even throw rampage in the mix.

Mace Shield Greatsword. In other words, Skullcrack.

Or, against Power Necromancer, Mace Disrupting strikes Condi.

if you’re going to specifically build to kill necros really, you can’t go whitout a hammer. immob is not that good vs necros, they have decent condi handling and cripple is pretty useless they can still dodge the big blows or kite you by chilling you instead.

They can hardly do anything vs the hammer hard cc instaed after they blew the few stunbreakers they usually carry.

sure necros can remove condi easy

what if i don’t let them do it so easily?

after my immobilize, i follow up with a shield stun so they need to stun break first.
then after they break stun, they still need to clear condi. but i would have already started my hundred blades and followed with a fear which means they need to stun break again.

which means they eat my full hundred blades and die.

muahahahahahhaha

I would totally fail though as a warrior now.

I have him at level 80 through tomes of knowledge. I don’t even have 1 second of fighting experience with him yet! XD

I had in mind to duel u on my warr when u were on ur necro so that u could see it from both sides

I’d say that crafting a warrior build to duel strictly Necromancers is kind of…useless?

I mean, most of Warrior builds (especially in WvW!) carrying Longbow and some strong condition removal from CI or Zerk stance/reflects shouldn’t have much ofma problem against most Necromancers.

If you insist, pack some CC and just interrupt the heal.

Immobilize works great against Necromancers, especially popular Power builds. Immobilize while in DS, sit on his back, interrupt Life Transfer, Necro sists duck because Blasts don’t work, same Dark Path. Deathly Swarm doesn’t work, autoattacks too. The only options are Putrid Mark (which you can predict quite easily because 90% of Necromancers do the same thing, #3 into #4, even under pressure. So if you see Chillbains, dodge and no transfers will save him.

Fear Me is your ranged heal interruption if you don’t have one on weaponset.

That build you posted is honestly not too amazing. It’s missing out on a trait that is all but required to be effective, Cleansing Ire.

Here’s a few builds that will generally wreck Necros but will also be slid against most foes.

Greathammer

Bull’s Charge can be replaced with Endure Pain until you get good enough at avoiding damage to not need it.

Greatbow

Not a ton of CC here but you deal enough damage and have enough condi cleanse via Combustive Shot that the Necro generally can’t keep up. If you can save Bull’s Charge for their heal (which will often follow if you land Pin Down) and they’re basically screwed.

Shoutbow and Hambow will also similarly crush a Necro unless they are really good at positing and can avoid the Warrior while Zerker Stance is up.

in fact, I have not met a warrior I cannot beat while roaming. (not those who change their build up in a duel).

those 2 builds are classic and really strong, if a necro beats any of those it’s the warrior’s fault really.
