Need Ideas for my 2nd Set
It’s funny, I’ve had exactly the same thoughts yesterday. I’ve got two ascended sets for my warrior, one berserker with Strength runes and one rabid with Perplexity. As I’ve started roaming a bit again, I’m considering building some Commander / Durability ascended set (to pair with Berserker trinkets).
Even though Perplexity has been nerfed, and I’ve stopped playing condition a long ago, I wouldn’t transmute the set. I might get back to condition play some day – and if not on a warrior, at least on a revenant. Not sure I’ll keep Perplexity runes, though. Would need to test the new runes before I make a decision.
For Solo Roaming i think Defender runes are way better than Durability. Durability runes really shine when in a group and you can share those boons.

I have an exotic berserker set with defender runes, it’s really good, especially on GS+Mace/Shield.
However, there are many builds which do not include blocks, such as GS/Rifle, GS/Hammer or GS/Bow. In such builds, the only block would be the aegis-on-heal, and I’m not sure this creates enough value from the rune set, compared to other rune sets.

Yes i agree. Defender runes are best on Mace/Shield setup as i wrote above. Put a sigil of draining on the Mace and you have ridiculously high sustain that really shouldnt be allowed. lol

I made a set with Defender Runes (berserker stats) to experiment with as a roamer, but I went back to the strength runes after a couple of days.
I run shield (but not mace), and I didn’t find I was getting enough from them to make it worth the damage tradeoff. I run shield mastery, Defender doesn’t proc off reflect, and I couldn’t count on lots of melee hits to give me much in the way of regen. The big heal every 30s wasn’t enough of a draw.
I might experiment with Scrapper next as far as a defensive option goes, and Scholar may be better than Strength on a dps set (I think in most cases it is).

Thanks everyone for your reply.
I think STR will be a better choice if you run Vanilla/Str. But I think, im better of with berserker so i plan to change it to Scholar – and use rifle + gs.
I’m thinking of defender runes too, but im running shield mastery and they didn’t make reflect = blocks. But ill search for that idea of Spartacus to pair it with Mace/Shield + Draining. After all, im using headbutts so i could have 4 interrupt skills including the burst skill of mace.
I’m only thinking now on what would be my set and rune stats if i run full melee, GS / X/Shield.
I dont like it, I want to fight like a man.
Don’t play to “fight like a man”. Play to win.

A common call of the scrub is to cry that the kind of play in which one tries to win at all costs is “boring”, “not fun”, or “not manly.” Who knows what objective the scrub has, but we know his objective is not truly to win.

What I really wanted to say as “fight like a man” is, to “play fair”. Play fair so i can master my warrior. Master my Warrior to Win. Thanks to your quote.

Don’t play to “play fair”. Play to win. Learning is good, yes. But dominating your opponent is the only clear definition of true mastery. Perplexity builds are just one legitimate path to attaining victory. Nothing “unfair” or “cheap” about it.
In Street Fighter, the scrub labels a wide variety of tactics and situations “cheap.” This “cheapness” is truly the mantra of the scrub. Performing a throw on someone is often called cheap. A throw is a special kind of move that grabs an opponent and damages him, even when the opponent is defending against all other kinds of attacks. The entire purpose of the throw is to be able to damage an opponent who sits and blocks and doesn’t attack. As far as the game is concerned, throwing is an integral part of the design—it’s meant to be there—yet the scrub has constructed his own set of principles in his mind that state he should be totally impervious to all attacks while blocking.

Oh yes, I agree with your thoughts, but its my personal opinion because i found it lame when you caught a thief off guard by confusion and he will die by his own skills.
