Guild Wars 2

Hey guys, I am currently running a Burst-Zerker build but I am getting beat by better people in duels. I mainly have trouble with Mesmers and Thieves, sometimes Guardians. It seems like I either destroy the opponent or I get completely “rekt”.

Here is my gear… Any tips would be appreciated.

Dual Axes-

+Next 3 attacks after switching to this weapon are criticals
+50% on critical to steal health

swap offhand axe for shield & take the shield trait. offhand axe is pants, shield is the bees knees.

I completely agree with choovanski. Drop Arms to pick up Defense for the Shield Mastery, Defy Pain, and Last Stand.

Also, drop the bleed sigil on your axe and replace it with the intelligence sigil on your greatsword. On your gs, put hydromancy, air, energy… or whatever you like best.

I’m also not a fan of accuracy sigil, mostly because my gear has my crit chance high enough. If yours is about 50% before Fury, consider replacing it with something like air or fire (air is better vs single target). Strictly speaking, there’s probably a better option, but I like those sigils against stealth classes because they tell you where your opponent is if you get a lucky hit in.

if you dont have those trinkets try 3 knight and 3 berserker

Too much focus on dmg output rather than survivability.

Shield offhand is definitely one of the best choices for wvw play, especially outside of zerg situations.

My advice is Power is equal to or greater than crit damage. Power boosts your base damage and your crit damage. While Crit dammage only boosts your crits and thats only when you crit.

So don’t think that maxing crit chance and crit dammage is the way to go with Runes and weapon sigils. Think Maxing power.

for pvp I use celestial amulet and some other rune set.. doesnt matter really.. 1 vs 1 are easy.. 1 vs x are doable depending what you’re facing.

I know this is nothing you have geared for but I love it and you should give it a try.

why do you have a link with Toxic sharpening stone and Sigil of Malice? and on top of that you have Vigorous Shouts with Stances Utilities? If youre doing it to boost Sigil of Doom and Leg specialist the effect is very minimal.
Also, you do realize shouts got nerfed on the last patch and only heal around 1k with full zerker armor
