Title says it all,

brand new to game, I am trying to get my way around but, lots of stuff to understand.

I would like to build a solo pve warrior, what should I take as weapons, shield or not, stats on weaps, armor etc,

Skills and other things like that.

I seen people talking about things like 0% 20% 20% 30%.. fine, but, I dont understand it lol.

Seen that I can make some combos (with my skillbar) made some, just dont know how I did it LOL

Yeah, that bad !!

Crafting ??? What should I opt for ?

Thanx for helping out !! !

solo pve, you mean you only do open world? because in dungeons you have to group up with some one.

“berserker stance clears all CC on you and you’re still immune to CC for 8 seconds”

Hey Mobidoy,

Glad to see new faces in our game, and in our class.

A commonly used build for new players is called a “Signet Build”, it’s pretty effective while you’re leveling up to 80, working on your story, and exploring the open world. It’s what I used on my warrior, up until I learned more about the game mechanics and began creating more complex builds. I will warn you, though, that it tends to get a bit boring. Although it is effective and a great starter’s tool, I encourage you to make your play-style your own – GW2 is one of the few MMO’s that definitely encourage that.

If you look in the “Arms” trait-line after you’ve reached level 11, you’ll notice that there is a selectable trait that increases your precision by 40 points for every signet you have on your skill bar. What this does, is increases your chance to get a critical hit – to a massive number whilst low level. This couples with many other traits in the “Arms” trait-line and allows you to do some mighty fine damage.

Your best tool for early-game PvE damage is going to be the Greatsword, specifically its #2 skill “Hundred Blades”. All you have to do is align yourself in front of one or more enemies, press 2, and watch your warrior cut everything down. Google or YouTube a few tutorials on Warrior, and speak with this guy above me who seems more than willing to help you out.

I do, however, encourage you that if you become more experienced, switch around your skills, try new things, find a style you like. The cookie-cutter build I spoke of works, but it can become monotonous and not really feel like your own.

Good luck man, enjoy the game.

Wasn’t Deep Strike (Arms 10) changed to be weaker when you’re below level 80? At least that the answer I gave a guild mate when he asked me why Deep Strike only gives him +20 Precision for each Signet.

Something like “30/0/0/10/30” (I guess you mean that with “0% 20% 20% 30%”) means the trait point distribution when you’re level 80; when you’re level 11+ you’ll notice that you get trait points you can spend in your hero menu.
The above example would be 30 points in Strength, 0 in Arms, 0 in Defense, 10 in Tactics and 30 in Discipline.

What I like to run in open PvE is “For Great Justice!”, Banner of Discipline and Signet of Rage (elite); if pick up the banner and use skill #2 and #3 and the other two skills on recharge you’ll have close to permanent Fury and Swiftness (+20% crit chance and +33% movement speed), later with the trait that reduced the recharge time of signets you should easily have both permanently.
I assume those skills are also good at lower levels.

I would go with Axe/Mace in the beginning; later when you have Fast Hands (Discipline 15), you can swap to Greatsword, skill #2 and then one auto attack chain and then back to Axe/Mace.

Ok peeps are over thinking it, what they state are good and all but more directed to lvl 80.

For leveling I would suggest mainhand axe (offhand is up you, Id suggest warhorn for the speed buff) and weapon swap for GS (for dps and mobility). Its kind of a boring setup since the main damage is simply the autoattack but it works…

So dps would basically be GS charge, 100b, (alt ww), swap and axe it.

Then you would trait for this setup which basically is strength and arms trait lines. What should be considered from the other lines are Tactics (10pts for any of the following; Empower Allies, Desperate Power) and Discipline (10pts for Warriors Sprint or Signet Mastery).

When you reach 80 its different tho since you can better spec for synergy effects.
