New to game, questions about an 80 warrior
make sure you fully explore the orr areas + forstgorge sound (if that right? idk, it’s the area claw of jormag spawns in.) you’ll get a couple exotics which you can either use or sell to buy other exotics.
if you’re tight on money you can always just try to farm up for the karma gear from temples, they cost 42k karma a piece which will take a while but they won’t cost you a cent so you’ll be able to have some money to invest in the market, to get more money down the road.
as for crafting, unless you’re willing to farm the materials to make them it’s going to be just as expensive or even more so as straight up buying one of whatever you’re trying to craft. the worst thing is the ectoplasm for the exotic recipes though, for the other things they’re fairly simple to get, if a bit time consuming. for ectoplasm you have to dissemble rare equipment and even then it’s only a chance, you might not get any at all. you could just sell the rare and buy an ectoplasm though, that’s more of a sure thing and might save you a lot of time and potentially money in the end if you’re unlucky with RNG. if you’re doing the larger quest chains (the temples, jormag) you should get some rares eventually.
now, for dungeons you have a couple options in terms of builds. you can go glass and be a large damage dealer, but you’ll die quickly if you’re not careful. you can do banners or healing shouts for support, or you could go straight tank which i personally don’t like as i think others can do it better, but it’s an option.
for dungeon gear, i dunno actually because i only started dungeons and fractals after i had all my exotics.

I don’ t have a character over 26 yet, and I’ve amassed 10g, just by testing characters out.
Gathering and ignoring crafting has worked for me. Crafting is something I’ve never really liked at all in MMO’s, so I rarely do it. However, gathering is awesome because it’s all profit, no matter how much you get for it, it’s profit.
Farming for mats, and selling them on the TP, is probably the best way to make money. The only real thing about it is that you have to spend time gathering the mats.
Anyway, that is how I’ve made money. With the exception of 1g (which was what I had left from selling an 11g dye and 4g mini, then getting a bank slot and a couple more BL keys), I have made all my gold from selling 1-25 crafting mats (the levels are the player levels).
EDIT: Had I not used the profit from the stuff I got in the ( ), I’d be sitting on 25g right now, just to give more insight.
Sidt: Thanks for the advice on the karma armor. I think that’s what I will go for first, and probably focus on power, vit, and toughness – just for the survivability. I’ll also head over to Orr and see what I can find in terms of mats and rares.
Balao: I’ll have to start watching materials prices more closely. It seems like harvesting and flipping are a good place to start.
Thanks for the responses guys.
You’re taking it the wrong way dude.
A week old is young. Get to 80 at your pace, have fun, test weapons, test things you want. Don’t even try to buy new gear, it’s pure waste of money or karma.
For dungeon I recommand you do the explorable mode once 80, but you can do the story mode if needed. Failing and discovering dungeons is part of the learning process, you might encounter other players in story mode that are quite lost or not well geared.
Dungeons are tough at first anyway, so don’t worry.
You’ll have plenty of time once 80 to discover beyond what you’ve learned. Build etc… it’s a matter of perfecting your char, and better understanding of the class. It’s indeed very fun to discover new mecanics, new way of thinking etc… but it’s way too much overwhelming at first, and you might get frustrated by all the informations you don’t understand.
I suggest you play normally to 80, just as everyone did, have fun and then when you’ll feel the need to go further come back here, I’m sure you’ll have learned a lot of things by yourself by then.
One has always walked before running. Time will come don’t worry.
