“Mentoring engineers / mesmers and showing you what you can do with your fantastic class!
Just pm me for my advice! Always eager to help!”
Hello everyone ^^
I just finally started my female Charr warrior and I really enjoy the heavy armor outfits. I’m just a bit confused by all those many traits, skills and weapons since I have 0 expirience with warriors. I would be pretty happy if one could tell me:
Talking about PvE open world, dungeons, fotm
greeez Warriors and ty ^^
Anyone? Tought after a few hours this post will have at least a couple of replies snif
The best damage you can get is from a full Axe build I believe (Axe/Mace and Axe/Axe or Sword). I currently run A/M and A/A set up. Using 30/10/0/0/30 but 30/25/0/0/15 is a bit better I think for damage. The traits are pretty self explanatory, taking ones that boost damage. Though I’m not sure what Master trait you take in 30/25/0/0/15 version when running a full Axe build
As for utilities, Healing Signet is great for sustain or use Healing Surge if you prefer a burst heal. For Great Justice almost never leaves my bar in PvE. For solo play I usually use Signet of Fury (keep passive) and either Banner of Discipline or if I’m lazy, Signet of Might. Signet of Rage is a great elite skill, but I prefer Battle Standard at least in group play.
In a group if you’re the only Warrior you probably want to run For Great Justice, Banner of Strength, Banner of Discipline, and Battle Standard to really boost your party’s DPS output
Cool thx for the answer So no GS? 100b? :o
this is a standart build aswell with the highest dmgoutput normaly u do your 100b with the gs and than switch to axe and do axe autoattacks until u can switch back to gs
The way to go when leveling imo is shouts / signets as ‘For Great Justice!’ ‘Shake it Off!’ ‘On My Mark!’, Signet of Rage and Healing Signet are very strong and the respective trait bonuses for them are not very expensive.
At level 20 / 30 you can get ‘Lung Capacity’ / ‘Signet Mastery’ (10 in Tactics / Discipline)
Level 40 you definitely want to pick up ‘Fast Hands’ (15 in Discipline) and then shoot for the weapon traits that you enjoy such as Forceful Greatsword (20 Arms for Greatsword), Crack Shot (20 Arms for Rifle), Merciless Hammer (20 Defense for Hammer), Axe Mastery (20 in Strength for Axe).
Find a setup that you feel comfortable with, ultimately you will have to decide what you want to sacrifice, as you cannot spec your traits into everything.
For leveling, i found the easiest way was the 5 signet build, you can use whatever weapons you prefer as it won’t matter for leveling, however i found hammer – axe/mace fairly good.
Greatsword is really good for damage as well. Only a little bit behind the full Axe build.
The Axe auto-attack is basically a never ending Hundred Blades with how much damage it does from my experience
What? I feel the GS auto attack extremly weak and slow :o
Thx everyone gonna use your advices
I just leveled a warrior:
10 in discipline for warrior sprint (fast travelimg around the map)
10 in arms for deep strike (go full signets)
5 in discipline for fasthands (so you can use bow to might stacking)
10 in arms for forceful GS (you will get impress with the amount of might stacks.
Put points in strenght til you can respect at level 60 for 0/25/0/0/15. Then fill up strenght.
Axe mainhand is the best melee weapon warriors have. Offhand can be warhorn for mobility, mace in organised groups/for the CC, sword for the block (couple with axe/mace set in a pure axe build) and even axe can be used when solo (vuln from mace isn’t as valuable solo and the fury from #4 allows you to use signet of might, fury and banner of disc as utility skills)
Greatsword is good for the evade, mobility and strong damage against walls. It also gives some might when solo. However, in parties where you are capping 25 might from long duration sources like fire fields, Forceful Greatsword will overwrite these good might stacks and lower your damage. Hence, you may want to not use the greatsword in such parties (you can use GS without the trait, but the rotation is more of a hassle IMO). Of course, the autoattack on GS is crap, so you should always switch back to axe after using 2/3/5.
Banners (Disc/Strength) are the best buffs that the warrior brings to the party, and should always be on your bar. Discipline is much better in decent parties so if anything you should bring that. FGJ! is amazing if you don’t have other sources of might/fury, and the signets of might/fury are excellent filler skills to up your damage. OMM! is decent in some areas (e.g. Lupicus with reflects, Malrona) but fairly situational due to its being single target and short duration of effect.
Battle Standard and Signet of Rage are both very strong elite skills. Signet of Rage is better personal DPS but the banner elite provides permanent party fury which can be helpful in most groups. The AOE res can also save a party.
