Hi, I’m newbie. I’m newish to gw2, I played for a few weeks almost a year ago, but now I’m back and playing a warrior that I plan on taking to lvl80 (I’m level 15 now). I’m looking for resources, tips, pointers, advice to help me gain a better understanding of what I’m doing (or not doing yet).

Best tip I can give you is to reroll to a different class. Guardian is good.

Warrior is pretty much garbage atm. If you’re a pvper, you’re pretty much hurting your team by playing warrior. If you doing fractals or dungeons, you’re spending hundreds of gold for a gearset designed to buff other classes so they can be stronger.

Nobody brings warriors for dps, and if they do it’s only because there’s a phalanx warrior already there.

If you insist on playing warrior, just keep your expectations low. Very low.

Don’t listen to that guy

For leveling try as many build and weapons as you can, always keep 1 melee weapon and 1 ranged weapon.
If you’re planning on playing only PvE, play your warrior and have fun!

Warriors are very bad atm in PvP/WvW (borderline unplayable and undesirable). They are considered “free bags” for every class (except maybe thieves) meaning they will get roasted in 1v1 situations assuming the skill level are comparable.

In PvE, you won’t go wrong with any class. So feel free to roll a warrior BUT I’d recommend guardian because of their staff skill #1 which can tag upto 5 mobs for loots.

P.S. Don’t listen to trolls saying warriors are ok (They are not). They are obviously other classes mains fearing that Anet might buff us

For leveling, I’d suggest taking a greatsword for the mobility and cleaves. Its 3 skill contains evade frames, so it can be used for both offense and defense. Also, the burst skill (F1) has 20 more range than its auto attack, hits in a circle, and can be used while moving.

As for a ranged weapon, longbow is generally better than rifle – it has access to a large fire field, a blast finisher with decent damage, a blind, and an immobilize. The latter can be useful for landing the 2 skill on greatsword.

Healing Signet is generally our best heal, and for the most part the passive effect is superior to the active.

Warrior isn’t one of the top professions at the moment, but it still has fairly decent damage and mobility while being moderately durable. Unfortunately, the elite specialization is basically junk, but the core profession is still viable in all game modes (though it could definitely use some tuning).

well warrior in pve is reliable … u can do ur build but remember dont try it in pvp coz u know they suck

Warrior is still really good in PvE, but in PvP/WvW you’re going to get slapped around by the other elite specialization.

my advice,..don’t play warrior at all.
