No 2 melee builds?
The reason all the meta pvp builds use longbow is because of the type of pvp we have. Due to the nature of conquest, the longbow adrenaline skill is just way too good to pass up in most cases. You keep all your fights on a point and can use that field to either force your enemy to stand in a powerful fire field or back off preventing them from stopping a cap/neutralize. At the same time, warriors are able to use this field to stack a lot of might thanks to strength and hoelbrak runes.
You can surely make your own build or find a build running both but, as I said, due to the nature of conquest, longbow is really really good.

As RagNoRawk as explained though, the nature of Conquest really makes longbow warriors shine out there.

There are not decent duel melee builds but decent build integrated with longbow.
There are many reason why many people uses longbow, but the biggest reason is following : Most warrior have cleasing ire trait. Only longbow allows you to use that cleasing ire without worry to miss (even though you have blind at the moment) but just hit on the ground and, you get condition removed. Only longbow is best weapon that work best with cleasing ire. (i would say cleasing ire is useless if you dont use longbow)
And also, you cant melee in WvW if you are WvW user. you will die first if you are full melee in zerg fight.
Third, longbow represents at least 2 skills that are wide attack, not just single target. it is very effective in team fight, spvp or wvw.
If you want to make a full melee build, you will definitely vulnerable to condition. I think you need to equip warhorn instead of longbow, and with its “warhorn converts condition into boons” trait in tactics trait, to cover that your conditional weakness.

I can see that field being a solid supression as said. Either they burn or they leave. I just wish the LB felt a little more fluid in it’s use. I’ll try out the build you offered Elegie, although from what I have read OH axe isn’t useful to do as it’s weak? So should that be changed to something else for more assistance?

It’s indeed weak in PvE and WvW, but the PvP version has the damage increased by 50%, making it the most brutal skill (see this recent post of mine for a more detailed explanation).
There are lots of other possible options for pure melee build, though. You’d have to first try and play all weapons and utilities, to see what kind of gameplay you prefer (damage? control? mobility?). For instance, here are some builds, each with specific trait templates. Feel free to experiment and mix things up:
- GS/sw+sh, mobile, reasonably tanky, sword’s F1 to immobilize either for hundred blades or sword #3,
- GS/Hammer, from the WvW roaming series,
- GS/Axe+sh, another roaming build,
- sw+sw/mace+sh for a condition build based on blocks and interrupts.
