It is true that some traits or skills are superior to others (meaning: too good to not be used); personally, I very rarely play builds without Cleansing Ire and Fast Hands, and I value stances very much. Like you, I’d like more build diversity for the warrior, so maybe some buffs or, more generally, some changes in certain trait/skill mechanics.

Now, I happen to disagree that “non meta builds” are too weak. People tend to stick to certain builds because they’re good of course, but also because they fear the judgment of others if they try something new. The GW2 community, like many others, tend to favor groupthink effects, the anonymity of internet adding lots of disrespect to it.

Personally, I like to think by myself and try new ideas, and I’ve had great success in some experiments (and of course my fair share of failures as well). IMHO, there are “non meta” builds that work well outside a niche, and it’s up to players to think and intelligently put them in action. Getting insulted by players you just crushed with some bizarre build can be quite entertaining, and I can only recommend this amusing experience to other fellow warriors.

Mace #2… is weak? I mean it’s not amazing, but 10sec cd on a block is pretty nice, and the counter’s damage is respectable. Not really my idea of top candidate for buff.
At any rate, this is a “problem” that can be mirrored for literally any profession. The meta builds are “strong” (thus the reason they’re used) and alternatives are looked down upon as “weak”. And I say “problem” because you can run alternative builds without much issue, it’s just a matter of getting used to/good with them and then finding where you can excel with them in the current meta environment. I don’t run any meta builds and get along just fine, and I’m certain I’m not alone in this.

i play a greatsword glasscannon in pvp and its hilarious, it chews through condi clones before they have a chance to stack their bleeds.

i think for classes that can break out of meta and still be effective,
warriors have it easier than others.

also axe 5 is LETHAL in pvp i use it on my axezerker.
dodge rolls deal around 3-4k damage, axe 5 deals around 12k damage.
you can dodge while channelling it, so roll forwards and backwards through your target you’ll evade all damage and deal around 18-20k damage.

yup, only hambow or nothing, sure you can go axe/sword for far point dueling, but w/e

3 things are required to be somewhat effective in PvP. Cleansing Ire, your choice of stance, and a longbow. Any build that doesn’t have a longbow will get destroyed.

You’ve finally arrived;
Nerfed greatsword damage.
Nerfed axe damage.
Nerfed mace damage
Nerfed hammer multiple times
Nerfed longbow multiple times
= No development of any weapon, only nerfs.

Things to look forward to;
Nerf to sword..oh wait, it did get nerfed already
Nerf to rifle
Nerf to shield.

And yet it seems it can’t be understood why people still run hammer when it has been nerfed so much to “encourage” other weapon use.

Please keep running hambows.
I like kicking them around and soak up their delicious tears when they can not even get a single hit on the ground.

I’m running a hybrid sword.shield/ rifle,
I stack more bleeds then.a.cat in heat, and.love.making people waste a block on a kill kitten flack out.
