So I’ve been trying warrior, so far I find this to be really weird.

The earthshaker busrt seems to have like an animation lag before the warrior jumps to the air.

Even the skill says its only supposed to be 3/4 casting time.

Is this intended or?

There are a few warrior skills with weird delays. Rush, whirlwind attack even endure pain (which is an instant cast). The answer is probaly a bug but anet hasn’t said or done anything with any of those skill so we don’t really know for sure

I know what you mean. Sometimes it works fine though and very smooth so i just think it’s a little delay on the server or something. But yeah Rush and Endure Pain have the worst delays on a warrior I think… The time’s I’ve got hit by an Evi just because my Endure Pain Lagged.

There is a number of aspects to warrior skills that you have to become familiar with to get the most from your warrior. This is particularly true in PvP. Skills like rush and bulls charge will over shoot if you use them at their max distance. Hammer burst has a small delay/so does flurry. Whirlwind wind will fire straight through some targets and not hit once. Shield stance won’t activate if you use it too quickly after an evade. After playing one for a long time you just adapt to these things and change your play style to not not rely on gap closing and not to try and get certain skills to naturally flow into each other. Instead it is better to try and stick to your target relentlessly and use these skills as very short range mechanics. If you do you’ll notice their effectiveness increases. Just play warrior as a profession that needs to be within 600 units distance at all times.

Yes, it does lag sometimes – really frustrating. Rush does it too, I’ve seen my targeted rush go towards a person, suddenly go the opposite direction or turn a random way, and then finally when it stops I’m nowhere near my target. They said they fixed rushes pathing (iirc) awhile ago but ever since the trait change its been really wonky.

I was once running after someone, was reasonably close to him, used Rush to close the gap, and I proceeded to run right past him even though he didn’t move, dodge, or otherwise change the direction or speed he was running…. until I ran past him, out of gap closers.

Not related to the delay being discussed here, but yeah, buggy skill.

I’ve seen rush failing very often when the opponent is using a movement skill, like elementalist burning sped: if it happen he use this skill while you are using rush, your skill will end in a totaly unwanted spot and out of target. No matter if you were going to hit in the right timing outside his evade time (that is less than 1 sec), you will be hit by his burning speed but you will never hit. That’s what i noticed while comparing this 2 skills.
It happens with many other movement skills, like warrior savage leap, especialy if they are moving in your opposite direction and coming in front of you.
Also Rush will fail if the opponent moves at a certain scale of the rush attack line.
