Yes, despite all the “opness” of the new warrior, from time to time I do miss the old days. when a 13% damage boost was only 10 traits away and you still loved the discipline line even tho you cursed the 3% damage every day.
AND THE BEST PART… nobody kittened, moaned or complained about the warrior because everyone you killed felt bad about themselves afterwards…
I miss the last part the best.

Except the people who played warriors. ;>

I used to have huge respect for the warrior class. You could really tell when you met a skilled one and I believe it should have been a guiding light for the other classes, some of which were clearly way too strong for their own good. Now warriors are on autopilot. Sad.

I remember the good old days where few brave souls dared to use Hammer and Mace…

When playing with soldier amulet meant challenging al that was agreed about warriors.

I’ve changed nothing since I made this Warrior 13ish months ago. Always was Hammer/Greatsword, have for most of that time been deep in the Defense tree. I’ve only gone 20 into Discipline for Mobile Strikes. I’ve had Unsuspecting Foe almost the entire time I’ve used Hammer. I still use Healing Surge over Healing Signet.

So basically nothing is new for me. Blinds are an insane menace now, and sometimes I take Cleansing Ire, but sometimes I skip it. I miss the old blinds, but nothing about the old Warrior really changed my playstyle.

Oh, and I don’t really miss not being able to move with 2 of my Hammer abilities.

I remember the good ol days when i didn’t have to wait for 6 hours in order to wvw, and when i do skill lag makes it unplayable to have anything than a LB or a rifle.

Having said that, i’ve mained a warrior since release and nothing has changed my playstyle. after over 1200hr played i think i don’t even have the mace skills unlocked even. I hate that weapon.

S/(wh or shield) – (GS or Hammer).

I haven’t felt a single bit happier with any buffs and i will care less if we get nerfed to the ground.

I think I’m also one of the few (or many) who really haven’t changed their build at all since launch. The most I’ve done is trade out dodge march for cleansing ire (yes, I had an adept trait at master level) and switch out my magic find trinkets for rabid ones. In the range of 1.2-1.4k hours, with 50-100 hours on my necro, ele, ranger alts each, warrior is by far my most favorite. I love my sword and board.

but i am also happy we finnaly got the love and balancing we deserved, after being used to pick up dead bodies…delaying a cap with no chance of killing the bunker infront off us…we now are able to do what everyone has been doing since day 1… KILL and we are pretty kitten good at it now too but all this flamin has made me changed my spec…i just had to shake it off lol

It’s a might stacking power build.

I used Healing Signet, and I should get rid of it, but when I am now in the leaderboards many of my teams need to be carried.

Soldier’s Amulet is because I don’t like glass cannons, so I don’t like Berserker’s amulet that much.

I missed the openness of the dungeons and pve content before all the “unreachable” areas got mapped out. I would use my 1h sword to leap to places other classes couldn’t get to. The empowered trait was great before it was nerfed. Running with a guardian and me on my warrior I saw some serious numbers. 10k final strikes were boss. The warhorn got nerfed recently to. Being able to remove 2 conditions at a time and further back in the warrior timeline warhorn was OP removing pretty much every condition per toot.

Something I miss is OHKOing 5 people with Earthshaker.

Something I don’t miss is having to kite a ranger with a GS because he is better in melee range.

I do miss having good fights with eles, it just looks cool.

I don’t miss being the laughing stock of PvP.

I would say I miss the challenge when fighting pretty much any class (or player), but I’d lie. Now you just have challenging fights with good players. And have some sweet revenge on bads.

Yeah, I sure miss having burst damage potential for 4 seconds every 60 seconds that requires 2-3 utilities, having no sustain and being the squishiest class in the game yet only being viable in melee, having the worst condition cleanse, having kitten mobility to the point where a single chill will remove me from the game, and having the most easily avoidable, predicable, and choreographed attack sequences in the game (kitten, we still have those).

Oh those were the days! Honestly, my favorite nostalgia moment was the quickness nerf patch. “Well it can’t get any wor- Oh. Well at least we get a new projectile finisher underwater and a tooltip change!”

The only class a warrior was viable against back then was a mid-point bunker guardian.

Oddly enough, while my playstyle hasn’t changed much, I miss the old berserker’s stance. It had a pretty darn low cooldown, and allowed for some cool synergy that allowed you to get two fully-powered burst skills off back-to-back. Plus, at a 25 second cooldown, the trait that gives 10 seconds of Vigor on stance use had roughly 50% uptime, which meant we could actually dodge a fair bit. I was really sad when the trait got changed to a 60 second cooldown…

Me too.Ill trade the curent zerker atance for the old one anytime.I also miss the old sword auto quite a lot.A few builds pretty much died with that patch.

what I miss most of all was the ol’ 20 10 20 0 20 hammer GS with fgj, balanced stance and endure pain and ovfc SOR. that was the most kitten DPS build on the planet for killin those nasty zergs. you just needed a baby sitter.

I miss the days when we weren’t continuously getting shoved by the devs to play SS/LB dire condi bunker build.

I miss the days when people dont usually equate warriors=OP and all this fuss abt healing signet OP (which i personally dont feel it so).

That said. i do miss the Berzerker power trait being on adept level of Strength line.

I definitely miss when Warrior required some serious dedication to main in PvP. Also when my Hammer build was ridiculed for being the easiest nonsense to dodge ever.

It still is easy to dodge. It is just that the general skill level of the game is going down due to good players leaving.

i missed sonic boon gs, the new warrior did force me to dodge better
