“Seriously, just dodge.”
How about we provide some simple balance suggestions to the warrior so that we are not already pulling our hair out any longer over it?
Rather than buff utilities, I propose the best course of action would be to implement a sort of blind removal in a few traits we have, in that at least getting one would enable us to have some counter-play to the menace?
For instance….
- Restorative Strength now also removes blind on top of the other conditions it removes.
- Vigerous Shouts heal and convert a condition on yourself into a boon (or remove a condition on yourself if too potent)
- ‘Precise Strikes’ renamed to ‘Satisfying Strikes’: 33% chance to inflict bleeding on critical hits, a chance to cure a condition with each bleed tick (Cooldown: 2-3 seconds).
- Shrug It Off is changed: Any Modified Condition applied grants Berserker Stance and Regeneration, (Cooldown: 40 seconds, can be adjustable for balance)
Just some ideas. I reckon if we keep offering terrific ideas to assist warriors, we might get some ‘half-way’ appropriate change like Cleansing Ire, which seems so close to what we wanted…
Change the 5 point tactics minor to ‘Blind Insight’, which provides a 3-second internal cooldown preventing a warrior being blinded after an application of blind has worn off. This is the first idea just off the top of my head. It requires an investment of points, is not a direct counter to blind and is not in a tree associated with damage.
- Restorative Strength now also removes blind on top of the other conditions it removes. Now warriors must waste a healing skill to remove blind, easily removed/interrupted.
- Vigerous Shouts heal and convert a condition on yourself into a boon (or remove a condition on yourself if too potent) Must now spend 30 points into Vitality to be viable in pvp.
- ‘Precise Strikes’ renamed to ‘Satisfying Strikes’: 33% chance to inflict bleeding on critical hits, a chance to cure a condition with each bleed tick (Cooldown: 2-3 seconds). Good Idea, however the problem is if your blinded you miss anyways and can’t remove the blind. Therefore this trait would never remove blind.
- Shrug It Off is changed: Any Modified Condition applied grants Berserker Stance and Regeneration, (Cooldown: 40 seconds, can be adjustable for balance) Berserker’s Stance isn’t that good, why have temporary -100% when you can get perma -65% with runes/food? Honestly it should go back to 25 seconds with a -20% stance duration.

Agreed on the notion that our healing skills mechanically could use a buff, I was going off a future presumption that they might be buffed in some manner, but yes it is very minor solution.
Just giving Vitality an alternative branch or build to go for.
I think the change to Precise Strikes might work in our favor much more situationally than you think, landing that crit for bleed initially gives us passive condition removal over the course of a fight. Of course we are more than likely to get pounced on initially so it is either way really. I like the change just on its own if anything.
Since runes and traits vary on all courses of the game…yes I went there, sPvP, WvW, and…actually no I can’t take PvE seriously enough, let’s just say sPvP and WvW. The recent buff to the stance paved the way for builds to use it directly at good times, a means to directly counter some mass-amounts of unmodified conditions some classes toss our way.
My ORIGINAL mark-up for Shrug It Off was the cooldown to be every 12 seconds, meaning 33% uptime on 100% condition negation if you had a modified condition on you. …But I think some people might find that broken. I actually have a few other ideas as well but I really wouldn’t mind my Restorative Strength change to be accompanied by the five second cooldown reduction on all healing skill actives that were mentioned during the trait patch but never implemented.
What I don’t understand is why blind acts completely different than other “on-attack” effects in the game. It really kills me how signet of might makes it so my “next three attacks” are unblockable, but if I use an AoE attack (aka every hammer skill besides backbreaker), each target hit counts as an attack I blow all three charges with one attack. Blind makes my “next attack” miss, but will make my AoE attack wiff all 5 targets. Where’s the consistency?
This is absolutely bogus. Every other on-hit effect in the game counts each connected target as a separate “hit”. Blind isn’t just making one connection miss, it can make up to five connections miss. It’s already good enough in 1v1 situations, it doesn’t need to also neuter AoE attacks. Retaliation is already set as a counter to AoE, does blind need to be filling the same role?
Sincerely, wvw hammer warrior main that’s currently trudging through an army of plague 2 spamming flavor-of-the-month-o-mancers.
I have heavily thought about the mechanics of blind and AoEs…
I wonder what difference (good or bad) it would make if AoE abilities like Earthshaker caused Glancing Blows instead of flat-out missing every target.
Blind is not problem. The real problem are all conditions.
I think warrior playng GS + Bull’s charge bild are suffer too much with blind, but if we focus in one condition, we’ll continue suffer with bleed, torment, fear and anothers conditions.
Our utilityties, weapon and trait skills are insufficient.
Yesterday, i spamm conditions and conditions to a Guardian, and he just eat everything. I hit, hit and hit, and in the end he fills his hp and kill me.
No chance to fight a thing like this.
We can’t hit cause aegis, protection and retaliation all time.
We can’t face him cause summons and GS skills.
We can’t deal condition dmg cause he convert, inutilizes and fills his hp all time.
This is a perfect mix of sustain + dmg.

i suggested this on another thread and i think it’ll at least minimize our blind frustration with a single trait buff.
we have http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Short_Temper which is an adept major trait in the strength tree,
we could add in an effect to instantly recharge our weapon/burst skills after missing an attack or getting blocked in addition to the might stacks.
so when you do get blinded and miss your big earthshaker, your skills don’t go on cooldown, you can use at again immediately but this time with an added 3 stacks of might. of course instant recharge effect will have icd.

This looks good
This trait line have no good thing to offers. I honestly never use.
I hvae a suggestion for it instead of giving us traits to reduce blind effect ect, why not have something similar to theifs, when they stealth the No.1 abilty changes to stealth abilty, why not have it so when a warrior is blind they have a new No.1 abilty on there weopons that allows them to hit the target even though they are blind but at reduced damage, some thing like sword could have Wild stike, whilst blind wildly strike the target for 50% reduced damage, cannot crit. This will allow us to have the abilty to deal with one of the worst conditions for a warrior but not make us extreamly OP.
This skill calls Unshakable, champions monster has it.
I think warrior could use this skill with Balance Stance.
“BS, and grants unshakable for 10s”
- obs¹: The defiant will stack normaly, acording number of enemy in area.
- obs²: This change afects the trait “Last Stand”, but could not share CD.

Swap Shake it Off or Berserker’s Stance with the effects of Utility Goggles.

Blind in this game shouldnt be a condition. It makes no sense that we can be standing there swinging a Giant sword 2 ft from someone and not hit them, or somehow stomping the ground and missing…. Instead blind should be a boon, like Aegis, which absorbs the next attack then disappears.
The problem really isn’t blind itself, it is the thief class having so much access to it.

Yup because that class has complete accessibility to blind condition. Other professions can’t spam it, but some have a shorter cool down for blind than warriors Smoldering Arrow Rangers don’t even have one unless underwater.
