Every warrior build I’ve played has had a sword. Swords are great for the mobility alone in WvW. I can’t really speak to much in PvE, but if you’re using a shield I’m assuming you’re going for a utility build and not concerned about DPS.
Honestly, Shield isn’t that great in PvE. Personally I would much rather use off-hand sword or mace.
