Peak Performance

Physical skills deal more damage based on how much adrenaline you have. Physical skills recharge faster.

Damage Adrenaline Stage 1: 10%
Damage Adrenaline Stage 2: 20%
Damage Adrenaline Stage 3: 30%
Recharge reduced: 20%


New

Muscle Stretch

Upon activating a Physical skill you gain the following boons :

  • 5s Resistance
  • 2s Unblockable
  • 3s Quickness

Recharge reduced: 20%

I had something similar in mind actually, except that I was considering variables such as resistance, endurance, and stun breaking.

Basically, something like:

  • 20% CD reduction.
  • Physical Skills now break stun and restore endurance (50).
  • Physical Skills provide 5s of Resistance upon activation.

I don’t think regeneration is suitable for the warrior, it’s not really in the class theme. Quickness, on the other hand, would be very nice, although 5s of it might be a bit too strong.

I don’t think we need to make Physical Skills as stun breakers or fill endurance because Stances already do that with Last Stand, also that will undervalue Frenzy.

For Regeneration why not ? it sets Physicals apart from other skills also Dogged March gives Regeneration, TBH i merely thought of it because that what Muscle Stretching do IRL lol

I was originally thinking along the lines: if I want to remove stances altogether and play with physical skills instead, how do I need to buff them? So I tried to compensate physical skills with what stances bring, adding some stun breaking to form a synergy with Rousing Resilience (as I wouldn’t thematically equip Last Stand without stances). However, reading your posts, I somehow realize this is an awkward approach.

So I guess I do prefer your proposal, except I’d probably substitute the regeneration by vigor (because it has good synergy with Strength minor traits). In exchange, I’d replace the vigor of stances by something else.

As for the regeneration boon itself, it’s just that the class has been designed with limited access to it, so I just feel it’s out of place. But why not indeed?

A bit strong for Physical skills, but:

  1. They need a good boost to be useful as more than buggy interrupts.
  2. We need to filter more Stability and Resistance into the core class.

In this case, adding a few stacks of Stability for a few seconds (2 stacks, 3 seconds) and a an increase in damage scaling (200% as the old trait) might make these more attractive.

You can Buff Physical skills damage by 300% and they would still suck, It needs Utility.

Currently Warriors take Peak Performance for just ONE skill “Rampage”

As for Stun breaks and stability, as i said that will make it too similar to Stances and will make Frenzy obsolete as it break stun and gives quickness plus Vigor if traited .

Maybe we could change specific Physical skills like Stomp since it already a stun breaker to reduce it cool down and maybe give it a few seconds of Stability.

My vision for this change is to introduce a “new play style” for warrior that relies on a bit high up time on Resistance, Quickness and Regeneration via physical skills to survive but a bit weak against CC and boon strip skills.

What i would like to see on warriors is also fixing dual wielding.There is not even one viable combination of one handed weapons for warrior.Offhand axe is weak,sword is just meh, mace might work if it gets cooldown reduction.
Also stomp(skill) should also finish down enemies.

How about instead of regeneration we get a few seconds of Unblockable buff ?

How much seconds we need on activating a physical skill ?

Combine this with Mending becoming a Physical skill and conditions removed going back up to 3 (instead of 2), and Warriors might get the kind of sustain they’ve been asking for for years.

While I agree with the general idea (that is, giving physical skills extra utility rather than a pointless-aside-from-rampage damage buff), I think that getting three boons for each, particularly two of the most useful boons in the game, would be a little bit too much. Keep in mind that both kick and bolas are on a pretty low cooldown, and even Bull’s Charge would be near Frenzy in terms of boon uptime, plus a knockdown.

Personally, I feel that a trait that buffs certain skill types should focus on what those skills are meant to control. For stances, that means self-targeted boons. For shouts, group support. Both their traits bolster that particular function. Physical skills, on the other hand, are mostly control effects. Thus, their trait should have some effect focused on landing or improving their CC and interrupts. For example, making the physicals themselves unblockable (to enable you to interrupt a block channel, for instance), or adding a damage proc on interrupt (such as the Daredevil’s), or -maybe- just 1-2 seconds of quickness to better allow you to follow up on the CC. Alternatively, as I’ve seen suggested on this forum before, add some individual effect based upon the particular skill such as adding a daze or 1s stun after kick and stomp, increasing Bolas immob duration, and adding unblockable to Bull’s Charge.

Granted, I still don’t think this would see them widely used, but it would at least allow the trait to buff physical skills’ intended function- and thus be more useful in builds that might see benefit from them-, rather than a very niche and mostly useless damage buff.

They can start by making Rampage a transform, not a physical skill.

Then the rest of the skills can be adjusted without that 800lb gorilla, as well as adding new physicals (eg Mending).

If you build for full physical you would trade off Stability/Endure Pain/Zerk stance which make this change not “too much”

Maybe keep it at 2 condi clear, but indeed it has to be a physical skill, with this change it will clear 2 condis, grant 5s Resistance, 3s Quickness and maybe 2s of Unblockable.

Now people might see it as too much, but remember that you need to spec in STR line and pick the trait, so its a buff for offensive warriors also remember that most of your utilities will be Physical skills to upkeep these buffs as long as possible, so no Endure pain, berserker stance and Balanced stance for you, or maybe you would want to mix things (stances with physicals) and use that Physical skill as an opener or as an anti condi bomb in the right moment.

Personaly I would be glad to use more physical skills. But there is no place for them on my skill panel. We are too depended on our stances atm (atleast berserker and endure pain).
And I think they should change “head butt” to physical

with this change an STR warrior would use them, would counter blocks and conditions a bit plus quickens to deliver his attacks, could be even bring him to meta.

lol, have you had a look at our shouts? They are no better, its pretty much the sole reason why almost every single war runs nothing but signets + stances. Best part about em is that unlike every single other class, warrior’s utilities save for FGJ/banners actually benefit group play. This is why no one likes warrior, not only the most selfish class but also their utilities are a joke.
Only reason why I like warrior is just how salty ppl get when they get destroyed by one 1v1 on a point.
