Let’s face it, the elite specialization depends heavily on adrenaline due to the new profession mechanic Berserk which requires full 30 adrenaline to activate and the rate of decaying IMMEDIATELY after getting out of combat is frustrating. I believe this is one of the main reason why Berserker turned out to be so unpopular in PvP.
Does necro’s DS decay out of combat? No. Why punish warriors’ mechanic here?

I’m pretty sure Adrenaline is way different from shroud in regards to dependencies.
Actually, I’m positive it is. A necro/reaper without substantial life force/shroud is so painfully useless it’s almost sad.
Not saying I support the immediate decay – I think adrenaline should have a fixed decay rate, per point, combat or not, for OOC is a bit punishing but the old decay was way too slow, and half-heartedly flailing around shouldn’t maintain adrenaline – being hit or hitting should.
keep full bars lose incomplete bars. thats probably the best way of doing it.

If I am not wrong, the timer before which adrenaline decayed before the nerf was 1 min. Maybe they could have brought it down to 30 sec?
Adrenaline is an important aspect of warriors. In PvP, DPS warriors depends on adrenaline directly from traits (+20% dmg from the strength line, 100% crit chance burst builds, healing depending on level of adrenaline, removing conditions based on adrenaline spent, etc) for both damage and survivability. The new elite spec mechanic is fully dependent on adrenaline and it requires FULL 30 to activate. I’d argue its as important to a warrior as any other profession’s mechanic to theirs. I fail to see how adrenaline is not so important to a warrior.

adrenaline is one of the core issues for warrior imo
1. getting adrenaline is such a chore without having traits like cleansing ire or furious.
2. some burst skills are mostly only useful at tier 3 so getting 30 adrenaline before you can “burst” takes way too long.
3. missing a burst skill with cleansing ire depletes adrenaline but doesn’t clear conditions, so all that work and when you miss your burst skill because of blind, weird quickness/slow travel distance, block, evade, and so on…you invest so much effort for literally 0 reward
4. adrenaline depletes way too fast and you have to do that uphill climb for adrenaline in every single fight
5. with the amount of burst damage increasing, the rate of getting adrenaline gets lower and lower because you survive for shorters periods of time and cleansing ire is almost useless in those positions, not to mention you dont gain adrenaline for getting damaged by conditions.
change something about adrenaline gain and decay, switch/merge some traits and give warriors condition clear that in not based off of HITTING a target and maybe warrior will be interesting again

I main warrior, and in fact, it is more or less the only class I play. I PvP from time to time, but I am not very good.
Here’s my take on the Berserker spec: People asked for a way to make warrior more difficult to play and reward players who are able to play well, effectively raising the skillcap. I feel that the berserker, combined with nerfs to adrenaline gain, is ANet’s misguided attempt at doing so, while making a logical addition to the Warrior’s playstyle without changing it so much that everyone would have to l2p again.
They are basically making adrenaline management the key thing here: warriors that can manage adrenaline well will be hugely rewarded, while those that cannot won’t be. For example, using “to the limit” just before a fight so you can proc “Eternal Champion,” or waiting until your health is low before activating berserk so you can proc “dead or alive” add another dimension of skill-based play to the Warrior-Berserker.
So, what’s the problem? It isn’t that ANet’s decision or berserker is bad, but that ANet simply made all the other elite specializations and changes to other classes too good when Warrior wasn’t really stellar to begin with. If anything, the warrior’s greatest “sin” was that any build was easier to pick up and play compared to say, s/f eles.
The only other class that I feel is suffering similarly to the warrior is actually the thief. Quite frankly, I don’t see many people speccing in to Daredevil for any other reason besides the extra dodges.
i would support this 100% but I don’t think anet would do that. -_- sadly
Indeed undoing adrenaline nerf is probably the first step on a very long journey to make Warrior a viable and enjoyable class again. Until then I’ll just get depressed every time I log into the game. No problem.
I’ll prolly get an infraction for the bump, but its needed for the dying class
Between Cleansing Ire and the elite signet, I don’t have problems gaining adrenaline. I’m usually good with a 3-stack burst when it comes off cooldown.
That said, I’m still not fond of the speed of the drain out of combat. I feel I can go from full to drained in roughly 10 seconds or less. That’s crazy. 1/second would work much better for floating between skirmishes.
Please excuse me for necro’ing this thread but Anet needs to consider this now that balance patch (like they promised) is soon.
Once my adrenalin starts to decay my burst skills are locked out anyone else with that problem or is this part and of the last balance solution we received?

This week I leveled a warrior again for WvW – it’s my third, and I deleted my second. I geared him, but then I can’t do anything effectively, because most of the things that makes my warrior a warrior (class/profession-wise) depends too much on adrenaline. Guess I’ll shelf him, and will level a 2nd guardian or even a 2nd necro… And it’s really a shame, warrior is so fun to level, but becomes more or less useless afterwards.
I’m enjoying my berserker on pve. Never thought about bringing him to WvW though, since he would be the less enraged and frustrated berserker on all Tyria.

You can use the burst skill as long as you have atleast 1 full bar of adrenaline after being in OOC. The decay is rapid and you have to be pretty quick in order to do that.
I really miss the old adrenaline system, pre nerf.
The leap stun burst on hammer definitely lost its awesomeness as an initiation move.
