Ok guys … after extensive testing. I have decided on my new WvW hammer warrior build. I tried out 20 points in Arms for the unsuspecting foe… but the loss of the crit damage and 7% burst damage made earthshaker hit too weak. Not to mention I could no longer do my favorite combo of Sword flurry cancel… swap hammer stuns.

One question about your new build: have you tried Destruction of the Empowered? Instead of III, V you could try V, VIII, you still have almost perm swiftness in your build.

I have tried what you suggest and it is really good. In fact it’ts probably better than what I use. It just came down to a personal preference for me. I like knowing that my speed increase cannot be removed and I don’t have to micro manage keeping swiftness up.
I started using the build yesterday and I absolutely love it. The only difference was gear and/or sigil choices; not because I wanted to, but that’s what I had at the time.
I had soldiers with melandru runes with zerker accessories; although my knights set does not have any runes so I went ahead and placed an order for some hoelbrak runes to use in it. My hammer and sword have sigil of fire in them (energy on shield) and I’m liking that so far.

I think Hoelbrak is a good set to add to knights gear … since knights has such low power…. Me I’m a junky for monster crits that make weak hearts scatter so I use zerker all day!…. But a small word of advice that not many people are not aware of … if you use an on crit sigil like fire… it will put your energy swap sigil on cooldown… which is why I stick with static stat increase sigils.
I agree not many people know that. I swapped to Hoelbrak quite some time ago over Melandru, just seems more practical and I run a mix of zerker/celestial.

Ohh, I totally forgot about the shared cooldowns. Thanks. I’ll change it out for something else then.
UPDATE: I went ahead and changed out the sigils and the spec has been a blast, pun somewhat intended. The only thing I changed is warrior’s sprint; since I usually run with a group in wvw I have swiftness up 24/7, so I decided to try signet mastery for more SoR up time.

Thanks for making such fun videos, your music choice is always stellar, although I can’t watch some of your vids as some songs are blocked on Youtube in this quiet little backwater town (the UK). Not saying edit them personally for me… Or am I?!?
So I changed out the sigils so I’m using two accuracy and one energy. The only change I’ve made it using signet mastery instead of warrior’s sprint, since most of the time I’m in wvw I’m running with my guild or another guild group and we have swiftness up 24/7. I was somewhat tempted at trying mighty defense, because with shield in a zerg group I get a ton of blocks.
So far this is my favorite spec for warrior that I’ve tried…excellent work, sir.
I gave this build a test run tonight to see how it plays. Perhaps I just need more practice with the hammer, but I didn’t have very good results with it. Watching your video again, it felt like your fights were at half the speed of my fights tonight. That could be due to my crappy internet connection and lag caused by the BG/JQ zergs running around, but it was tough landing any hits on the enemy with either weapon set. Also, most opponents were thieves & mesmers, so there’s that.
I don’t think it helped that my roaming partner was playing a glassy spec so was getting downed early or that we were outmanned on the two maps we tried with no towers/keeps to use as a base. At one point, me, my guildie, and two randos were the only people on JQBL.
I’ll keep testing it because hammer is the one weapon I haven’t really explored & I’m not going to give up on it after one night.

ROFL … the bees knees…. I can’t stop laughing… I am currently trying to come up with something for this problem and the music… I can go back and put generic music to them … but most of the fun is the music… But I will have something soon… a remix for most of the videos with new generic blah music.

I’ve been trying to find a good way to work with my warrior since the patch and one of the bigger issues for me has always been having the option for ranged when I’d like to swap out. I’ve been trying out 0/10/30/0/30 swapping out Furious Reaction, Deep Cuts and Crack shot depending on the weapon I’m running (Sword/Shield or Rifle) and I’m curious how integral Leg Specialist is to your build. I definitely get how devastating Leg Specialist can be in WvW (people get so friggin confused) but how critical do you think it is to keep in over the flexibility that 10 Arms might provide?
Thanks for that. A brilliant video. I’m so glad you showed yourself losing against that Mesmer. They are typically the class I can’t take out. Some of them think they are so good when they can beat a warrior. They’ve absolutely no idea what it’s like playing it from our view.

Great video. You have good skills. A well player hammer Warrior is a real biotch to deal with. After watching these type of videos it always inspires me to try it myself. The problem is lack of skill on my part would make it a long frustrating day in WvW

I remember this moment. I saw the multiple mesmers and warrior coming at me and I said … well YOLO… see what happens. Not sure if I noticed the bow… but that is much better than the usual laugh spam I get from losing vs multiples while I am alone.

Yeah, I know what it’s like to fight against BG, too ;P. Only people resembling feminine hygiene products spam laugh after stomping somebody in a 1vN fight. Any warrior that charges into an outnumbered fight instead of running away is going to get a bow from me.
