Precision vs Ferocity
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
I try and keep my crit chance around 45-50% minimum. if im playing a tank, or DPS, it has to be at around kitten
You want to keep precision, power and ferocity balanced against each other, and there’s a linear relationship. I use to refer to a table that I found for that, but the math behind it was slightly off when I checked it, and I couldn’t bring myself to create a corrected table.
50% is a common goal a lot of people use, but you’d be better off dumping a lot of that precision into power if you had no more than base ferocity in your build. Conversely, a build with 230% crit damage would benefit by having a higher crit chance (unless your power is in the toilet, in which case you should pump that).
Of course, this all relates to damage and doesn’t factor in on-crit benefits from traits, sigils, etc.
What you need to do is estimate your average power (including might), crit chance (including fury), etc. fir when you want to have your most optimized punch (e.g. beginning, middle, or late in a fight).
I maintain an average of 15 might, run zerk gear, and maintain permanent fury. So I balance around that with sigils and utilities.
