I play my Warrior as a Tank, with Hammer and Mace/Shield, and was thinking it would be nice to have some way to get Protection. I don’t know how useful some people find Berserker’s Stance but I don’t see much appeal to it, my idea is to replace that stance with Protector’s Defense. Granting the Warrior Protection for a period of time and the stance would have a somewhat long cool down. Thinking along the lines of Armor of Earth.

Thoughts?

thing is berserker’s stance is not in defence. im assuming that the protectors defence should be somewhere in the defence trait line.

i wouldnt mind it at all but that would make us too powerfull imo. i dont mind it but it would never happen.

keep in mind that those ressilient tough as nails guardians have at many cases 10k less health than we do! imagine us with our superior health pool plus protection!

Remember they also have many other defensive passive skills. Like aegis and what not. Other classes also got protection along with pretty much every buff in the game lol.

Been suggested before, but i would prefer a sigil in the weapon that gives protection on chance when hitting an enemy or being hit, that would be cool and a universal tank buff.

Well one way to get protection on a warrior is the rune of the forge. It gives 10 seconds of protection at 50% health also like +165 toughness

@seithan: I see your point, I mostly PvE so I don’t know how balanced it would be in PvP, but would like something like that.

@Graywolf: That’s a nice idea, something along the lines of 10% chance to gain 1-3 seconds of Protection when you successfully hit with an attack (?? cool down). (1 second for minor, 2 seconds for major, 3 seconds for Superior)

Another idea I think I saw mentioned somewhere else would be a Sigil that gives Toughness or Vitality after each kill.

i suggested both types of sigil a while ago.

Ive used 4 runes of earth and 2 runes of water, This gives you increased boon duration and a high protection proc – sadly with a high internal cool down since they nerfed it to a low duration and high proc rate.

I also use Chocolate Omnomberry Cream for an extra 20% boon duration, so Im hitting almost permanent Fury/Might/Swiftness which is too good to pass up.
